Sucker Punch's newest PS3 exclusive, inFamous, made it's retail debute two weeks ago on May 26. On top of a surprisingly decent marketing campaign, which included a trailer prior to the summer blockbuster, Terminator Salvation, and several TV ads, the game sold 176,000 copies it's first week on the market. InFamous has set the bar for new IPs that are exclusive to the PS3 in the US, making a stronger first week debut than any other new IP before it. -InFamous(May, 2009) - 176,000 in it's first week -Resistance(Nov.,2006) - 42K first week Of course, established IPs have sold quite a bit more in their first week. Metal Gear Solid 4 sold upwards of 400,000 units, while established first party IPs such as Killzone 2 and Resistance 2 both sold close to 300,000 units in their debut. And if you aren't one of the nearly 200,000 PS3 owners who have picked up the game, then get off your ass and do so! The game has been received extremely well amongst critics.
