I just beat 50% of the game. Game rocks. If you own a 360 and like sandbox action this game rules. If you own a ps3, go back to playing infamous if youd like.

I beat Infamous. 9/10 Fable 2 good. I'm ready for another game.

Yeah, I dont see a posibility of you not liking the game...you're not a shallow gamer like most. Visuals are mediocre but everything else is very good especially gameplay. Play on normal or hard and enjoy the symphony of destruction... easy is a bit too easy and it wont let you change difficulty in game.

Wait, a 20 hour gets a 6.5 for lasting appeal?

I don't care about Prototype that much but that's pretty much bullshit.

I will be waiting for the review from EDGE magazine..lets see what they got.
Oh n am confirmed 2 buy Infamous now.

Why dont you try both? There are many better reviewed games I liked less than lower reviewed games... Jsut cause IGN likes it more doesnt mean you will.

Weird, this game is on 360 meta but not Ps3 one.

Zen its the real ign.

Just for some perspective:

Heavenly Sword, about 6 hours, got a 5.0 for lasting appeal

House of the Dead Overkill, which lasts just under 2 1/2 hours with some extras that total nowhere near 20 hours, got an 8.0 for lasting appeal

Uncharted, at best 10 hours, got an 8.5 for lasting appeal

God of War which is nowhere near 20 hours go a [url=http://ps2.ign.com/articles/596/596778p4.html]9.0[/ur]

God of War II?  A dozen or so hours according to IGN and it also gets 9.0

Shadow of the Colossus better be damn long because it got a 9.0 for lasting appeal

Again, I don't care a lot about this game but 6.5 for a 20 hour game is just stupid.

Hmm well to say the truth, I was kinda dissapointed with the overt violence in this game. The whole absorbing innocent folks and then grabbing people and dragging their lifeless bodies with you kinda turned me off. I understand though, that I have not yet played this one, so I might rent it on my 360.

Kinda diverging, I feel sandbox games are helped by a more humane story and one which creates a sense of adventure and exploration and of course that whole moral choice thing. I believe Infamous has this and Red Faction has an awesome plot with the underdogs against a military machine.

I think GTA4 had story with a human touch.

So far what I have heard of Proptotype seems to be only about vengeance.

@Twesterm
but Lasting appeal has to be dependent on genre. Otherwise you'd have to compare everything to RPG's and every other genre would be boned.

Now what would be useful is looking at the lasting appeal scores for other open world games like GTA. Also Lasting appeal can differ if the 20 hours is really repetitive or boring, you can just look at the time it takes to complete and compare on a scale.
