Well you have to consider inFamous is probably advertised in every country the PS3 is sold. I believe they even bundled it in Europe. It was a major release for the PS3.

It wouldn't be crazy to assume it atleast had the budget of a game like Left 4 Dead.

This thread had people questioning the game reaching 1 million, one person even comparing it unfavourably with a game it overhauled in sales vs. time after 3 weeks. Refusing to believe is your prerogative, but your belief does not change reality.

I'm obviously assuming the advertising budget on trends. Why don't you prove me wrong?

Does Sony ever admit disappointment? Doesn't happen often that's for sure.

The title of this thread is congratulating the sales. There would be hundreds of threads if we congratulated every game to hit 1 million.

You made a unsupported statment, the burden of proof is on you. As you have stated it is mearly a assumption on your part; aka not reality.

I'm not allowed to speculate? Like I said I'm basing this on trends and I don't think they're are too far fetched.

You're not speculating you're saying Sony is disappointed and that 1 million is not enough, ironically only feeling the need to speculate this when it is about to cross that exact threshold. And ignoring that sucker punch and Sony are happy enough that infamous 2 is being made; Sony is happy enough that they are giving more funding for the next game.

Why does everyone think a sequel means the previous games was a financial success? For example the developers said Crackdown only broke even.

Obviously Sony hopes inFamous will grow in popularlaity wheter it was a financial success or not.

The way I see it is like this...

VGC poster:Infamous will reach 1m since x game did same or worst in it's time and managed to do 1.5m blah blah blah...

Infamous Hater: No hahahahaaha wont even come close to X games sales ROFL!!!

Couple of months later...

VGC poster: Infamous is now .5 from being 1m seller YAY!!

Infamous hater: well 1m is shitty any ways so....
