And I must laugh at the notion of Final Fantasy IV having the best soundtrack.

Glad you liked it, Darth. Have you beaten it yet? THe game gets almost absurdly hard near the end, so don't be afraid to put up a topic asking for help.

What part?
I played through the game, got all the summons (Levi, Asura, Odin, and Bahamut), and the game was never too tough.

Well not "absurdly" hard, but still tough. I got through it okay, but my fiance nearly gave up in the final dungeon. Red Dragons - they're a bitch!
Stop is your best friend throughout this game, I swear.
@Soriku:
Young man, you go to your room, and you don't come out until you hear "Battle of the Four Fiends" in context.
I agree with you Darth and I'm glad you are enjoying it. It's easily my favourite game, not just of the Final Fantasy series, but of all time.
I'd say that both Cecil and Rosa are developed perfectly in advancing the plot. It's beauty is in its subtlety. No needless and awkward backstory, nor is their any overly cheesy dialogue. I like that the dialogue isn't so overt.
If you like the soundtrack so far (my favourite in the series), wait until you get to what may be the best boss music ever... you're getting close enough to it.
(Edit: Khuutra mentioned the song I'm talking about just above this post... don't go online to hear it, play it through first)
I've loved FFIV since it was FFII. ;)
And yeah, the soundtrack has always stood out to me as being one of the best. Other tunes I love are the cave theme (Into the Darkness) and the theme in Mysidia. Actually, with the Mysidia theme, I greatly prefer the original to the remake version:
Anyways, over the years I've always seen these debates about FF music where nobody brings up IV, just like you've said. I'm happy that the remake is bringing the game back into the discussion! :)

It was funny that some of the end game random battles were harder than the bosses themselves.

It's easy to say that, but boy was I glad that Kain had Phoenix while I was fighting Zeromus.

Oh me too. It really made the game broken in a way. Just give him a pheonix down and an ether. Boom, you're good to go again.
