I'm so happy VGchartz added "Comic Sans" to their font types!Is there a way I can set it so that all my posts are in this font?Now,on topic,I've been a greek legends fan long b4 they made God of War.Almost every single greek legend ends with the death of the hero.God of War should end this way.I think a fight with all the remaining Gods after you beat the final boss would be a nice way to go.You just keep beating them and last as long as possible(with the left over life bar from your final boss fight) then when they kill you,they show the final cutscene of how Kratos dies and peace is finally brought to his soul.Or maybe the ghost of sparta dies and regular Kratos lives...

i think kratos is going to die in the end because the guy at e3 demoing the game clearly said that this is a trilogy and the best we can have are prequels..and knowing kratos, he is someone that can't be happy even after he destroys the gods...so yeah, i think the trilogy will end with the gods' and kratos's deaths

Or perhaps Zeus reveals some HUGE twist in the story which makes Kratos go back to the temple of the fates and use his strand of thread to go all the way back to before he pledged his alliance to Ares to stop the whole series from taking place.

I've kinda always knew in the back of my head the Kratos was going to die at the end. For the same reasons you state too, greek legends almost always end in tragedy. And I am fine with that, there will always be room for prequels. I just hope they dont milk it too much and ruin what is a fantastic series.

Can't wait for the God of War strategy game where you play as Kratos when he lead his army.

It wouldn't be original, but if he destroyed the gods and himself, which leads to the dawn of a new era (modern era) in which these "historical events" are now legends, that'd be a nice way to end the series. It would also be cool if you see a soldier on the battlefield and just as he's about to be shot dead by the enemy, he yells out to kratos and says he be his servant if he slays his enemies, and Kratos emerges from the underworld.

That'd be a nice round about way of ending the series.

I hate endings like this... makes me sad. :(

While that would reek of a Halo rip-off, it could still be a good game and would welcome it.  Just like how Halo Wars ended up to be a good game
