Yes, thats fact!
Sony's marketing department aren't 'hardcore' L4D players :)
The Sony version of this thread is the perfect example of how alien the fanboy process is... We're discussing a "huh..." comment here; over there they're bashing Valve as shiftless, lazy and worthless.

Simple question.
Do you really believe Left 4 Dead 2 would have been released so early were it not for the Xbox360 version ?
Fact is Microsoft cares little about the modding community as it doesn't exist on the console...
So Microsoft tickles Valve and Valve tickles Microsoft. I think somethings wrong with their relationship. I mean having a third party developer with a close relationship with a first party developer... I mean we never see that!

This isn't the first time we've heard this. It sounds to me like many studios (including Valve) just feel like Microsoft is friendly and approachable. They also went out of their way to make sure the transition from PC to 360 was painless for developers (which helps explain why so many big name PC Devs have 360 games that aren't on PS3, ex: Valve, Epic and Bioware), designed the system in part in accordance with Epic's wishes, and of course are free spending with comarketing deals and publishing contracts and such. Yes, there are moneyhats (Bioshock). But I think people understimate how effective Microsoft seems to be with third party relations more generally.

Lol Squilliam, ya gotta point. Microsoft probably has tried to buy them a few times too, and for good reason. They are essentially the gods of PC gaming nowadays, along with Actiblizzard. Valve still has claim to having the 2 highest rated PC titles of all time, a system which contains more games then any system out combined.
THATS an achievement.
As for the Valve statement, well, they shouldn't. Microsoft acts just like every other business, and Valve isn't their competition, so they and MS get along great. Like ^ said, MS must be getting their 3rd party support from somewhere.

GOTY Contestants this year: Dead Space 2, Dark Souls, Tales of Graces f. Everything else can suck it.
Every company has a big bad evil side, and they are blind if they can't see that. Especially Microsoft after all the crap they have done, not just in the gaming world.
Anyways I never wanted L4D on PS3. Good luck with your expansion Valve. Credibility -2 today.
i just think that maybe microsoft used to be more "evil" back in the days but now they are nicer or more soft I like bill gates tho
Said Gates: "I think all billionaires should give away the vast majority of their fortune. I'm not saying they shouldn't leave anything for their kids or to have a little bit for themselves but yes, I think they would enjoy it, I think their kids would be better off, and I think the world would be better off."
and i "bravo" him for that

Im betting that they have, I wonder if the 3.7B they got out is for Valve? It would make sense really to combine two of the biggest content delivery services out there. If they combine the two then they could definately get some pretty big synergies going on and the platform content deals if they combine Steam and Live would be pretty crazy. Also they could integrate the Steam style copy protection into the OS itself and give developers a chance to pull the big finger on the pirates for a change. I can really see a lot of positives from a relationship between them. They could dictate that Direct3d have content protection built into the video cards themselves.
