They are essentially the gods of PC gaming nowadays, along with Actiblizzard. Valve still has claim to having the 2 highest rated PC titles of all time, a system which contains more games then any system out combined. THATS an achievement. As for the Valve statement, well, they shouldn't. Microsoft acts just like every other business, and Valve isn't their competition, so they and MS get along great. Like ^ said, MS must be getting their 3rd party support from somewhere. |
Im betting that they have, I wonder if the 3.7B they got out is for Valve? It would make sense really to combine two of the biggest content delivery services out there. If they combine the two then they could definately get some pretty big synergies going on and the platform content deals if they combine Steam and Live would be pretty crazy. Also they could integrate the Steam style copy protection into the OS itself and give developers a chance to pull the big finger on the pirates for a change. I can really see a lot of positives from a relationship between them. They could dictate that Direct3d have content protection built into the video cards themselves.
Tease.
