Awesome, I try to run KotoR II and it just crashes.

Again, screw you PC gaming. Better my ass.

What kind of Windows do you run anyway?

I know i couldn't get KOTOR to run on Vista for the life of me.  Tried like 10 different things.

Pissed me off because i bought it specifically to try it out.

Vista Home

Ah, no wonder.  I've got the same.

My KOTOR installed... I'm in the same boat.  Mine i believe downloaded but just crashed whenever i tried to run it.

I think it has something to do with Vista being different in the drivers.

Plug and Play my friend, plug and play. You should have seen long ago that dedicated consoles are the only viable platform for stable gameplay for one simple reason. You have no X factor. All home consoles are the same, and so if you have a problem, everyone has that exact problem, and it is fixable.

As for your particular problem, run this:

It's the official securom removal tool. Fairly effective. /bow

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

Ah... hm. I just found this online though. About to go to sleep though so i can't try it myself.

KOTOR runs runs perfectly on Vista. I'm playing it right now, actually. As far as that goes, so does Mass Effect. Looks amazing on my PC.

I wish I could find a good list of PC games which are DRM-free. I walk past them in stores and think: This looks interesting, but I wonder what bullshit it might infect my computer with...

So I buy Wii and DS games instead.

Wait, are you guys trying to run this in compatibility mode? Right click the shortcut, click compatibility, and click "run this program in compatibility mode for Windows Service Pack 2"?

I know you tried that, lol.

The only way to have fun PC gaming is to not care.

One thing I hate about PC gaming is I'm always worried about my FPS and my precious machine. I spent so much time and effort on this thing that when I get a frame rate glitch, I can't enjoy the damn game. I end up restarting and testing benchmarks and stuff, rather than enjoying the game. I play for shorter periods because I don't want to get my baby too hot.

A gaming rig is for showing off. A Xbox 360 is for gaming. Truth, for me at least.
