MGS4 and Killzone 2 were much bigger games for the system.

The only way you should see it as underperforming is if you bought into profs or whoever it was... "OMG! Infamous is sold out everywhere!" thread.

Besides... PS3 seems to sell multiplatform titles better then exclusives when they are of the same calibre.  Likely because the PS3 community is still pretty small in the US meaning word of mouth doesn't spread nearly as well.

I'm not a Sony fan, but I came in here to say that Infamous did well, despite the thoughts that it disappointed.


I hope that when The Conduit's numbers come out, you stay in threads that pertain to your console ownership, and not troll when you see the numbers are only around 100k 1st week.

Why are people hating on this game? Just because it doesn't sell as much as you expected, doesn't mean it's not a good game. It's an awesome PS3 exclusive game. I don't even own the game and I can tell you that it's awesome.

It can go the other way too. Look at Too Human, that is an awesome game that didn't sell as much as the PS3 fanboys expected. But that doesn't mean that the game is going to suck when I play it.

Both games sold relatively the same and were sold around the same time of year.

People will hate on exclusives, just because.

I played the demo and I agree with you. My question is: why does it have a metacritic rating of 85. Why did it not get reviews similar to GTA4?

So it sold like2-3 times as much in NA then EU? Hmmm... interesting numbers for a PS3 exclusive.

It did fine for a new IP on the ps3's install base, especially in america. It's not too bad.

I predict it going over 225k on week 2 on account of word of mouth. It's definitely a quality game and anything new of quality improves in the coming weeks than in the initial weeks.

UnCharted opened with only 133k and during the pre-Xmas sales period aswell. 190k first week for Infamous is a good start and will be another million seller game on the PS3.
