You're bringing the many laws of the Torah and Old Covenant and lumping them with Christianity?

I am 18 years old, and have been going to a christian school my whole life, but the whole christian concept never fulfilled my curiousity of the many questions i had such as the diversity of life, why did God create sin, etc. One day, my biology class decided to go into the subject of evolution(which of coarse they criticized it). I had a feeling that they weren't telling the whole picture of evolutio due to being a Christian school. I decided to read the origin of species in order to get a full interpretation of evolution. I learned that natural selection was indeed true, and if natural selection is true, why couldn't species change over a long period of time. After that, my parents soon learned that i had started to believe in the concepts of evolution and told me that doing that will only get me to hell. I then declared myself as a theistic evolutionist in order to satisfy both my beliefs and not to get my parents livid, but i was still curious. I began expanding my mind to new ideas and new concepts.

Later that Biology teacher made a project asking one side of the class to show Christian's views on life(i was in this side) and the other on atheist's views on life. Being Christian's, they nailed down atheism saying that they have no morals, no rights of any kind. I began debating with him saying that if natural selection is true, wouldn't those that shared and worked together have a better chance of survival than the selfish. He began getting angry with me and told me that this is not the time for that kind of talk(which ironically it was).

One big turn around for me was when my Bible teacher taught me that homosexuality is an abomination, and began to belittle them. I began debating with him by replying

Me- Why are you belittling the gay community so much? They are people just like us
Bible Teacher- NO! they are corrupted and are like murders and adulterers!
Me- But if you are a Christians, you should love them any way. Besides Moses was a murderer and David was an adulterer.
Bible Teacher- That maybe true, but they are still in sin and are a disgrace!
Me- If you didn't know they were gay, you would be treating them with respect. They act just like us except for their sexuality, it shouldn't be such a big deal.
Bible Teacher- That's a dehall for you!
Me- What did i do wrong?
Bible Teacher- You were promoting homosexuality which is against God's Law!

Realizing that all Christians do is exclude others and anyone who isn't like them is damned. I didn't want to be with such arogant and hypocritical people and renounced Christianity.

I then began talking to gays around me with much more respect and now believe that "fag" and "queer" are insulting. I still have a habit of saying "that's so gay", but i am trying to do better.

After that i made this post, and am seeing all the nice people here who are gay and are just like me.

I am not completely stating that there is no god, i am just saying that i do not think the god is Jesus...sorry...

Lemme guess, Catholic?

Well... The only verses that are specifically against homosexuality are in the OT, in which they call homosexuality an abomination. Shellfish, four legged insects, and certain birds, are also called abominations... That was my point. I didn't try to lump anything.

Rocksmith, you should become a taoist, or atleast call yourself one. It sounds cooler than atheist/agnostic. I'm a taoist because it describes my personal beliefs well. http://www.free-termpapers.com/tp/33/peh157.shtml

But, he is saying that the word abomination is used too much for such trivial things such as eating shellfish

Never answered the denomination question.

Your biology teacher is pitting Christianity against evolution in the classroom?

Your bible teacher is likening homosexuals to murderers?

...you need some intelligent teachers.

Yeah.  I'll say.

Sounds Evangelical.  They're basically the only people who deny Evolution.

Then again... considering his teachers it'd seem catholic as I don't think Evangelicals have their own schools?

US catholics in some franchises do stuff a lot different then the Vatican though.  Apparently it's much more decentralized then people think.  I mean that whole circumcision thing is totally an American tale for example.

It's kinda anti-free market too.  Like if you belong to one Franchise say in the California area... your stuck there.  You can't like move to Ohio and be a priest.
