OoT is insanely popular, one example is this topic alone (People do think it is labeled "as the greatest game ever", even I did just didn't think much of it). Also various polls, articles, etc. about it.

When OoT is talked about by game news sources they usually start out with "possibly the greatest game ever..." (words varies but basically that), now declaring a game the "greatest game ever" is a far stretch. It is just too hard to tell but it is certainly in the "greatest games ever" category.

I doubt that many people would agree with you on McDonald's. For me, the food would be most important in determining the greatest restaurant.
