I mean outside video games. Pokemon was big as a complete franchise, now it's only big as a video game. People don't want to associate themselves with it anymore outside the video game industry.

It may be because you are a grown man and thereby lack the perspective - but kids still love this stuff. There's a reason they still make movies.

THat's not all of it, either. THere are two groups of people who would wear this pedometer:

1. Kids who think it is super awesome.

2. Adults who do not care if other adults do not think it is cool.

It's the adults that you have to watch for.

Yeah...the kids are fine. Kids are kids. But an adult wearing that would be embarassing (IMO) People would see that and say "Is that Pokemon?" in a really annoying voice, and that adult would want to 'headbutt' the person who asked. The asker is the same type of person that thinks that ALL video games are for kids (even though they complain how some games are not for kids later on) Their logic is...ALL video games are for children...except the violent ones.

Another reason for me to buy HeartGold... You can add that to the list, which includes: the missing legendary Pokemon, updated localization, the opportunity to possibly visit all four regions, and the only Rival character that doesn't totally suck balls, Silver!

3. People like me who don't give a damn and have a strong appreciation of absurdity who will wear it ironically.

I'm pretty sure you qualify for number 2.
