Grandia Online is the next installment to this great series developed by GameArts( Grandia,Lunar,TMNT smash upto name a few), it was announced in 2004 but due to complications was put on hiatus. Well now its back and GameArts has released its first trailer. The game is confimed for PC but GameArts said in a early enterview they are targeting the PS3 free online capabilities for a console release(this was in 2007 so plans could of changed)
Franchise history:
Grandia - The original Grandia was released on the Sega Saturn the ported to PS1 and has been recently made available on PSN( japan only for right now), Grandia is known for its chaotic battle system which combines real time and turnbase for the ultimate experince. You play as a young boy named Justin who is summoned by a mysterious voice to investigate the mystery behind the lost Angelounian civilization. This is also known as the only game during FF7 birth that came close to matching its quality.
Grandia2 - Grandia was released on DC and ported to PS2, this is the BEST game in the series you play as Ryudo a GEO HOUND who is task with escorting a young Songtress of Granas. The journey wont be easy as a ancient evil god known as Valmar is making his ressurection known across the globe. Grandia is was known as the best RPG on DC hands down(with SoA close behind)
Grandia3 - This one is the most unreconized in the series, though it refined the battles system and had jaw dropping graphics its usually panned for its poorly written story. it was released in 2005 by SE, you play as Yuki who on a failed test flight finds a girl being chased by a unknown enemy and there begins the journey to stiop her mad brother from killing the GODS and giving birth to another.
- theres many spinoffs in the series, the most notable being Grandia Xteme which is a dungeon crawler(the others wernt released here)
* I am highly excited for this I love the GRandia series and if you never played the series with the BEST battles system plz give it a shot when it makes it release on PSN in the future.
