Forums - Sony - Sony: Playstation Eye more precise than Project Natal

Sony's Director of Marketing has taken a swipe at the Xbox 360's Project Natal by insisting that the Playstation Eye is more accurate and more precise than Microsoft's Project Natal. It apparently also suffers from depth issues on the Z-Axis.

Well, it certainly didn't take long for some classic politicking to emerge regarding the technologies. Sony’s director of marketing John Holler told Gamasutra that the PlayStation Eye is “more accurate and more precise” than Microsoft’s motion-sensing tech, and, even though Project Natal’s full-body scanning capabilities is “impressive,” it also, allegedly, suffers from “depth issues on the Z-axis.”

Director of Marketing is all anybody needs to read upto.

Well at least Sony's Marketing team is actually doing their job, imagine if they conceded that the playstation eye wasn't as precise, that'd be news.

Oh dear.

Doesn't Microsoft already have their own Camera for the 360 that is basically the same thing as Eye Toy?

If Natal isn't more advanced than that, why wouldn't they just use their existing camera? Obviously Natal does a lot more.

blah blah blah. go swing your purple wand around.  oh wait it just turned orange.
