Forums - Sony - MGS now and then

MGS4 was exclusive to PS3. The quality has been amazing and it was awarded 10/10 by many gaming sites.

The next MGS5 with be on PS3 and Xbox. Now, will they create it first on Xbox and then ported to PS3? We dont know.

Will the game quality drop due to Size limitations on Box360? It will be interesting.

To my knowledge, this game will be the first exclusive game released on PS3 and then next version was announcmed for multi plattforms.

In the end, the results of MGS5 and quality will be able to tell us much about the power of each console (comparing MGS4 to MGS5).

You do realise that there is no MGS5, yes? MGS:R is a spin-off from the main series, not the next game in the line. Because of that, the focus could be so different that comparisons to MGS4 and how it was created could be largely pointless.

Regardless of the name, it is the next up version to MGS4, and we can still compare quality between the new and old version.

Of course we can try, but it appears that they are going to be very different games. It looks like it may be similar to comparing FFVII to Dirge of Cerebus; two games set in the same milieu, but with very, very different focusses. Lightning Bolt Action is not Tactical Espionage Action, after all.

Will the game quality drop? Maybe, but as the game will likely be so different, it may be hard to pin down if it has.

ALSO the main man,Kojima is not involved in this

Apparently most of the MGS4 team isn't either; they're working on the PSP game. Really, it appears MGS4 and MGS:R are going to be very different games, each with their own tone. That doesn't denigrate either title, but it does make comparing the two, especially at this early stage, almost impossible.

MGS5 will be a technical leap from MGS4 which was released in 2008 IIRC. Obviously there will be some improvments but will they be the same as if MGS:R was developed exclusivley for the PS3/360 ? I don't think so.

Hopefuly Kojima keeps the main metal gear series on the PS3.

Disc-size really shouldn't be a problem with a game like Metal Gear if it comes down to it - they could easily just add multiple discs is needed. If MGS:R isn't up to par with MGS4 it's likely because the MGS4 is working on the PSP game and the new team either isn't as good or just needs more seasoning.

Like salt and pepper.

I think what he's trying to say is if the graphics and epicness of the game are the same as MGS4, then we can lay to rest that stupid MGS4 couldn't be done on the 360.

It will be interesting to see how this pans out..

There is no MGS5

And the quality died for me when it was announced that Kojima wasn't leading development...
