Forums - Microsoft - 10,000+ Against Left 4 Dead 2 (Update)

This is all false outrage and overblown controversy, likely aimed at Microsoft angst, and not Valve. 9/10 of these people are probably PS3 fanboys who hate Valve. I'm not buying the controversy, sorry, nobody who was a fan of the first game would complain about an awesome looking sequel, because it costs 20 dollars more than it should. Hardcore Valve fans have 2000 dollar computers...not Xbox 360s. They would pay 200 dollars for a L4D expansion pack, and all of them are very excited about the prospect of Valve finally creating games quicker than before. That's my take. I think most of the people here, who are upset, are probably just making it up, because they want to marginalize one of the 360's biggest upcoming games.

lol fail post fails.

It doesn't require a 2k pc to play left 4 dead if you can, (as some people are often quick to note) run crysis on high on a 400 dollar machine.

On that note i'd like to say that my pc which can run crysis on high but which is getting pretty old runs left 4 dead quite well. (singlecore processor among other things.)

And i really doubt people can really be arsed to do stuff like that. You're overestimating people :p

Check out my game about moles ^

A little off topic but could a 3200+ AMD processor and 1gig RAM and Radeon 700 play crysis?

damn peer pressure, I was gonna wait for the price of L4D-2 to drop a bit before I buy it, but now I 2 best-friends and gaming buddy are foaming in the mouth at this game and are forcing me to buy this day 1 :(

I am a little dissapointed that their is unlikely to be as much support for L4D as one would expect from Valve but, damn the original was the most fun I've had with a game for a long time, and despite being pretty short, I got a good 3 months out my $90 (AU$) purchase which is more than I can say for a lot of my other purchase.

I respect that some fans feel slightly but I'm suprised they'd take it this far, the most I'd ever be bothered to do is skip the game personally... far to much fuss imho.

What the hell are you saying here? Some people are upset, and with good reason. Many expected TF2-like support, and are disappointed at Valve's decision to go ahead with another one when they with good reason say that L4D hasn't got anywhere near the level of support consistant with other Valve releases. I'm a huge fan of the first and there are people I play with regularly who are upset. Valve has a reputation for supporting their games and listening to their customers. It's pretty easy to see what went awry here. At the moment I don't share their point of view, mostly because I trust Valve enough to deliver and I've easily already gotten my money out of L4D1. You are very much skewing the perspective of the typical Valve fan, and somehow adding ps3 fanboys into the mix. I'm not sure how you do it, but wow.

Also, the $2000 gaming PC hyperbole can stop any day now. While some people indeed own $2000 gaming PCs, Steam system stats indicate that most people on Steam (and it would be fair to assume most if not all Valve fanboys are included in Steam users) actually own relatively modest PCs.

This boyscott is as big as the Capcom one. Hopefull Valve can sell new game for $20 now.

Id rather see DL content then a whole new game. Valve will obvioulsy make more money releasing it as a new game though

Im glad to see 5 campaigns though as l4d was short.

And hopefully all 5 of those are available in versus mode.  Don't make the same mistake twice.

Hey kid... Because that's what u are a kid. If u don't like L4D2 or u think is to early for the realease of the second part, don't buy the game easy as that. But please don't be so stupid and come here to tell to the people that u are mad.

maybe the dumbest reason to organise 10'000 people that ive ever heard.

i dont care if its 80 bucks, im buying l4d 2

Last year's game of the year turned out to be Silent Hill : Shattered Memories (online GOTY was COD 6).  This year's GOTY leader to me is Heavy Rain.
