I'm not too keen on L4D2...I'll cut a long post short by saying that I will not be getting this game.

I think Valve should be careful not to alienate the hardcore. They're the ones who help you during tough times (Gamecube, PS3, etc)

ROFLOL...Hardcore gamers had better not abandon Valve, or we might end up with overhyped shooters that fail to perform!

Are you reffering to Killzone 2? Because that was, and still is, fun. Do you even own it? I don't pass judgements on Halo 3 (or any other Xbox 360 exclusive) because I NEVER PLAYED them.

I also don't need to show you the Mountain Dew cans for Halo 3 do I, if you're talking about Killzone 2 being one of the most hyped up games?

ROFLMAO...I'm just talking about these 10K people posting this bullshit on the internet, when EVERYBODY who I play L4D (Just played tonight as well on my PC...that's right, I own both PC and 360) are pumped for L4D2...We've yet to even see the cost model for the PC vs 360 implementation, and people are raggin on Valve...WTF...as if Valve hasn't EARNED their fukking respect...I bought the PC version for $25...WHAT....r u kidding me...and people want to compaint?  I'm unofficially speaking for Valve to say to those 10K people...Eat a Dick, you punks!

Since you're using anecdotal evidence, there's no proof that the people who are happy about the sequel (and the converse of course) are in the majority.

All people have the right to an opinion, and should be polite to everyone, and not be rude to others just because they're holding an different opinion than yours. Really, why are people getting so passionate as to insult each other?

"you people"?

If you're going to quote, make sure to quote properly, "[you] people", not "you people", since I didn't say "you". And what I was reffering to by people was, those on both camps who are either bashing or defending Valve by rudely insulting each other personally.

between this thread and the j man thread you are the most off topic member on this site.

Last year's game of the year turned out to be Silent Hill : Shattered Memories (online GOTY was COD 6).  This year's GOTY leader to me is Heavy Rain.

This boycott is worthless... they would have paid for this in increments, but now they just get it as one big package... I don't see what their f'n deal is... this is all the promised content... it's just coming as a retail package instead of being down loadable content.... most likely EA's insistence

Agreed.  And it basically comes down to this:  If you're really REALLY angry about this, like if it's causing you to lose sleep and ruin your day, then just don't buy it!!

If you don't know what you're talking about, better not make definite statements like that. Have you even read this link?

Valve's DLC was promised to be free, as in TF2's case. They talk about it as "software as a service", and they say it gives them good business (for example, TF2 sales increasing every time there's an update to the game).

PC gaming is not the same as console gaming. This quick sequel goes against Valve's philosophy and promises.

No one does this stuff for free... Valve is a company... they need to pay people... those people need to feed their families... you understand how that works?  I will bet that of those (over 18k sigs) that more than half will play L4D2... Valve has given those fuckers more than any other developer and when they put out a retail package that expands significantly on the previous version instead of giving them handouts for years they get pissed.  They are just a bunch of cry babies who want shit given to them for free.  The world doesn't work that way and really... getting pissed off at this shit when they have been given so much other stuff for free is irritating.  I personally think that Valve is trying to get out of their EA contract... how many games are they contracted for with EA anyway?

You were assuming the DLC would be paid, which proves you don't even know Valve's recent philosophy regarding updates. They're not about to forget that, indeed they will continue to offer free updates for Team Fortress 2 and both Left 4 Dead and its sequel. The issue here is the fragmentation of the community and Valve apparently breaking their promise to the community.

Note I'm not criticizing you for your conclusion (though I don't agree with it). I'm criticizing you for not knowing what you're talking about and just using truisms like "they need to pay people".

So much for the thread title. It's building at a pretty consistent rate, huh?

thats not only with L4d 2,many yet to be released sequels are going to suffer from a premature release.

Have a look at Bioshock 2,its the same game with a new lead character, that's it.Same adam n eve, same little sisters, same

same "adopt" or "harvest" ,same rapture. Its the same game.

Have a look at MODERN WARFARE 2 ,we all saw its demo.besides the better weather effects its the same game.Same radio orders by a

superior and same scripted climatic sequences.I have been riding snowmobiles since NOLF 2 days.Common bring in something

new.

Same with Crysis 2,Painkiller Resurrection and other sequels rather mods/expansions.FEAR 2 sucked, same nothing new.

Now we know about Half life and Its worthy sequel Half life 2.Both games changed the face of Fps games.

Still g-gun is copied in innummerable games in the name of telekinesis. And u had 6 yr gap in between them not less than 2 years

and a hilarious 1 year in case of L4D.

I'm not buying L4D 2 .Its the same game.

Common Valve ,you have dissapointed us with L4D 2,it seems u also have runout of ingenuity n creativity which once made u king of all developers.

Common I want something new in the FPS genre not the EVER INCREASING SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS DEMANDS,u don't need to make games for supercomputer...
