Did you just compared Resistance 3 to Halo Reach?!

I mean, there were threads saying Resistance 2 = Gears of War 2 last year and hell this was fun. Now, comparing any shooter to Halo3 is pretty much a selfkill.

And FF 14 is not a huge title. Check PS2 / Xbox360 sales for the last FF MMORPG. And besides that, a release on Xbox360 is likely.

But anyway, this comparison is stupid on all fronts. We don't know anything about 2010. Lionhead? Rare? BigPark? etc

2010 will be a great year for GAMERS.

No your argument is invalid, most of those games will be good/great and thats what matters for us gamers.

Let me see:

No exclusive shooter can match Halo in sales (CoD and MW are multi), so if R3 is being compared to Halo Reach (and the game is a FPS) in terms of sales, that's a no brainer, in terms of quality we'll see (I vote for Insomniac on quality)... I just hate that Bungie is working only on Halo titles, i miss the Marathon and Myth days... Of course, Resistance 3 has not a release date so until then that's a mute point...

Gears 3 vs GoW3 it's interesting, they're different but because of the names people compare it, BTW, did Epic mention a release date already?... GoW 3 will sell really good, but i don't know about matching Gears numbers, maybe a price cut can help...

Mass Effect 2 vs Final Fantasy 14, both PC games, one on 360, another on PS3, we don't know much about FFXIV except that it's online, we know more about ME2... In terms of sales, since console online gaming is spreading FFXIV has a chance of doing great on a console, ME2 will do great anyway, now, is the game on PS3 or not?, i missed that one...

Alan Wake vs GRAN TURISMO 5????????????????? Ok, a psych thriller vs a racing sim?, and why Heavy Rain is not listed on the comparison??? Of course GT5 is gonna win in sales, but the comparison is really weird...

Fable 3 vs Final Fantasy 13, of course FF13 will win, but 360 gets it too except in Japan, so it's an exclusive vs a multi... now i still think that the PS3 version of FF13 will outsell the 360 version in NA and EU...

These "year of (insert system)" debates, when talking about the fun one will have, are quite moronic since it´s up to personal taste...quite subjective...unlike sales, which are objective.

There´s no "it´s a lock for X system to win this or next year" applied as fact if you aren´t talking about sales.

I love my 360's library thusfar mostly due to its diversity, but their showing at E3 left me feeling disappointed for the holidays and 2010. I can't remember a single trailer outside of Forza 3 (which was amazing) that didn't involve shooting people/aliens/zombies. Although, I admit, some of them peaked my interest, namely Epic's XBLA game but I was really looking forward to more games along the line of Kameo and Braid.

Here's to hoping for some announcments at TGS. I'm confident they'll pull through.

Edit: Oh and they and a trailer for Beatles: Rockband, which was my favourite trailer of the show.

lol I love how the 2nd post in the thread was from a Sony fan. IMO I think Sony has this year but then that's why I chose the PS3 , I like the type and standard of games that apear on the platform. XBOX 360 fans ought to think this is the 360's year , that is why they bought the 360.

Yup looks that way, the best year for 360 owners. Even better than 2007. Now throw in LO 2 and Elder Scrolls V and it'll be a legendary year.

Well since I'm a Nintendo fan these game have no change at all against the Wii releases. ( sure maybe in critical judgement but not in sales.)

Dont even go there. If Forza can be compared to Gran Turismo then Resistance can be compared to Halo. Hypocritical

OT - 2010 looks to be the year of the PS3. However, alot of PS3s 2010 offerings will be delayed to 2011 making 2011 the year of the PS3 and the cycle will continue
