geddesmond2 said: I hate you. Its people like you that keep this consol war going and calling yourself the Sony leader. What the hell's that all about. All in all megaman, every post I've read that you wrote are started just to get people going and I think you should be banned for life for it. Not to mention your total and utter rudeness towards people who don't agree with what you have to say. Make love not war and don't buy in to these thread's |
wow, I completely disagree with this statement. I haven't seen megaman be rude since he got back from his ban. I also don't understand how he is keeping the console war going, if anything he is building bridges and showing people how dumb the idea of a "console war" is. Perhaps you should try buying a 360 and come up with your own opinion?

console war is good and bad in its own ways, i am for the war, i dont mind people arguing as long as they show proof of it being correct. Now why do i say this? because wihtought a console war we wouldn't have developers trying to push each other to make games / consoles better.

I agree that the consoles need competition. It is really best for everybody because we get better games and innovations this way. However, I think the idea that these consoles are at war with each other is something that only exists in the internet forums.
I mean, do you ever hear about the plasma tv war? or the hand soap war? Every product has competition, but I only hear the term war applied to video game consoles.

I really dont mind calling it a war, i do agree with you, but then again with the plasma tv's and hand soap, its not a 2 or 3 way copetition it's more of a, 15 different brands competition. I am guesisn this is why it's called a war, 3 major companies competeing against each other.
Cold war wasn't really a war, it was the 2 most powerfull contries competing with eachother on who had the best millitary technology. Cold war is still going on actually, people just say that US won because they got to the moon first... <<<
cold war wasn't a war, but its still called a war because it is the 2 top countries, and right now a 3rd joined the ranks, china.

well, there are categories where there are 2 or 3 competitors and you still don't hear the term word bandied about (like windows, mac, and linux). Also, while the cold war never came down to a direct troop on troop fight, that doesn't mean that they weren't fighting. There was economic, diplomatic (alliances), and espinoage warfare going on.
For example, when russia invaded afghanistan, guess which country funded and trained the afghan rebels? The U.S., so yeah, I think the term war works for the cold war because it really was a war, if just not with actual troops.
Competition is much different from warfare which is why I think the termis just some idea dreamed up on the internet forums to help fuel arguments and help people justify their purchase. Fact of the matter is, no matter which system people chose to side on, they probably would have liked them all pretty much the same.
