Yeah, but some people spun a rumor out of context and figured that the game was all of a sudden F2P, all the while the website says Subscription fee TBA.

These are the same people that think MMO's are non-profitable LOL :)

MMO profit margin is HUGE in comparison to a normal game trying to break even. Game cost + subscription fee of 15$ a month every single month? That's 165$ + 50$ for the game (60 on PS3) first month free PER SINGLE PLAYER. It does not cost 215$ for a single person's bandwidth on one server. Ugh, I wish some ppl would jus whip out a calculator and provide themselves with a bit of common sense.

A subscription puts me off from the start, unless it's tiny.

But SquEnix IDs as well? I went through that hassle with Konami ID, why can't they jsut use the PSN name like so many other games?

Square-Enix IDs were used in Final Fantasy XI. They are very easy to use and are helpful when it comes to hackers. Just write them in the booklet.

While i definitely prefer the subscription model for a 'level playing field' I wouldn't mind if they had a dual sub/free to play model, where if you had a subscription you'd get certain benefits over the non-subscribers, but at the same time couldn't have people buying things you weren't getting with your subscription. Like most players you hate to see some rich guy come into the game with an unfair headstart cause he transfered his real money into the game.

Aparrently the game will have 30-day payment plans instead of monthly fees. IMHO that's great, I hated when you had to pay for unused time.

Mmm... It' still a maybe for me.
