Discuss.  (My opinion: This kid is full of ****.  If he was so smart, why didn't he get into a University.  My ranking for him is a sub B class genius.  An A class would be in UCs or Ivy league colleges.)

Practicing martial arts isn't helping humanity. If he'll argue that practicing martial arts is indirectly helping humanity by means of making him a stronger person (and potentially allowing him to save somebody), then playing and buying video games indirectly help humanity by supporting the economy.

All video games are, are another form of escapism and entertainment. If you then call entertainment and escapism as a waste of time, and therefore being avoided, we will have no entertainment, no fun, and no enjoyment in life. The lack of entertainment, and time to simply just waste and be free is what causes businessmen in Japan to commit suicide, or even die unwillingly from heart attacks.

Either the kid must call all entertainment to be avoided and for us to slave away every second of our lives, making sure to be machines that are 100% efficient, or recall his statement that video games should be avoided. Or if he's simply saying that video games are a waste of time (after re-reading his quote), then he's correct, but again, there's nothing wrong with something not being efficient.

Even Sheldon in Big Bang theory plays video games

Right on.  Let's see him make a glowing fish.  LOL

lol, the guy entered college at 8.
he's no genius, he's only a kid who has been trained as a race horse by the parents.

in most countries you start school (where you learn stuff besides play doe) at 5 and it lasts 12 years... when you're a genius, you get to skip classes.. but not 9 of them.

No this kid was probably trained from 2 years old to learn, being home schooled with math and stuff, finishing elementary school program by the age of 5. Once there, the rest is just jamming stuff in the head and for someone who's already doing only this it's easy. Had he done college in 1 year, sure, genius... but why take a whole 3 years? cause for that part he was in a real school system. plus he wants to be an astrophysiscist but did liberal studies??? that's a damn genius move!!

Heck he probably had plenty of time to play too. Recall how much time you spent actually studying in your childhood? can't have been much!

OoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoO

I was impressed at first...then i went on to read "Community College" and "Liberal Studies".

Even I could of done liberal studies at the age of 8, lets see him take on engineering at a big name school, then i'll be impressed.

This kid claims video games are a waste of time. To him i respond. liberal arts is a waste of a degree.

He isn't a genius. I bet if he saw some Calculus he would cry. How about some goddamn Reservoir Simulations. He is just a workhorse...who wants to Scuba and get the bends...then kick his reflection's ass with Karate!

Scuba Diving actually HURTS humanity. Most of the Coral Reefs today are gone from Scuba Divers.
So he just hurt himself there.

Community College graduate?

That's bigger fail than I expected. CC are complete jokes.

Community colleges do a tremendous amount of good for people who would otherwise be unable to further their educations, regardless of how smart they are, either due to financial restraints or countless other factors. You can throw aside this kid's opinions for a lot of reasons, but "CC are complete jokes" is not one of them.

Well, I would expect a genius to be able to get some kind of scholarship to UCLA or USC. (Those should be pretty close to home)

Besides, my experience with the quality of CC education stems from what's near here. And they are not good schools.

Thanks Khuutra. After spending a few semesters at a university paying over $30,000 a year, I decided to go back home and study at the local community college. It's affordable, I can schedule my full time job around my classes to support my family, and my professors are actually the professors from nearby universities.
