yeah. It's evident to me that sony pulled a very smart move. They combined their camera tech with wand tech... It's the ultimate motion controller.

I missed the button part so that's a relief but still, it's an accessory and an old accessory. Not only that, but they have to have two of the wands per person and an Eyetoy.
I know you people are expecting a lot from a years dev time but that's just foolish. A year is an incredibly small amount of time and leaves room for no mistakes and nothing deep. Things like Wii Sports and Wii Fit are both good because they spent much longer than a year researching everything they could from them. The games that are releasing at the wand launch won't have that time and they will suffer.
Nobody gets it right first try and games that do things well only do those things well because they had time to polish the Hell out of it.
Two things are going to happen from the launch games:
You all can talk all you want about Sony quality but it's a loss either way. Either they're going to pour a lot of money into a game with only a year development time so they are only going to be copies of 4 year old games or they are either going to be called shovelware because they are in fact games developed into a year.
Let me say this again and even bold it this time: it's incredibly hard to make a new game in a year and even harder when you're working with prototypes.
Sony can throw all the money they want at their quality developers, it doesn't matter, they're still trying to make a game in a year. Again, anyone expecting anything impressive next Spring is in for a huge disappointment.
Every game will easily fit into one of the two above categories. Because of that, the accessories just won't sell and will fade away into obscurity. These will be incredibly casual games aimed at people that do not have a PS3, the PS3 doesn't have the family image the Wii has, don't want to spend the money on the PS3 when they can spend less money on a Wii, and have to buy many accessories.
Just so you know, those are huge barriers to entry for the general uniformed non-gamer.
Let’s just pretend there's a fitness game next Spring for the wands. For the PS3, you have to get the PS3 which is not the family friendly console and the more expensive console, then you have to get the wands, then you have to get an eyeToy, and then you have to get the game. That's a lot to ask the non-gamer.
Now, look at Wii-Fit, you have to get the Wii which is the cheaper family friendly console, you have to get the balance board, and you have to get a game (lets assume no bundles because it's fun being stupid). For the non-gamer, that's something that's much easier to swallow.
Now I know I'm talking about the non-gamer here, but what the mythical hardcore gamer? Well they won't give two shits about the wands because it's going to be Sony Sports, Drake's Handgun Training, Sony Fitness, and Circus Games (the exact things they have been mocking the previous four years). There aren't going to be any deep games unless they are horrible throw away games like Red Steel.
So because of that, the wands just aren't going to sell worth anything. Deeper games may start coming out a year or later down the line, but by that time the wands have already failed and it just won't matter. During that year no new developer will want to waste their time on something nobody is buying.
So the wands-- too little too late.
And as for me calling you a liar Staude, what do you expect?
When you say something as ridiculous as the Wii doesn't work in a normal living room I have to expect one of two things:
I don't think you're an idiot so I have to assume you're just trying to make the Wii look bad. If the Wii had as short of a range as you think it does, it wouldn't be any kind of success and that would be every non-Nintendo fanboys first weapon against the Wii. It would be like the Wii's equivalent of the RRoD.
So yeah, pick either of the two above options because those are the only two there are and, like I said, I don't think you're an idiot so I'm just assuming you're not telling the truth to make the Wii look bad.
-edit-
I forgot there is a third option, you Wii may be busted but that doesn't seem like the case since putting it on your coffee table makes it work for some reason.
-edit #2-
And I mean no disrespect to you, that's just how I reason things out when I see statements like that. Definately don't think you're an idiot (want to stress that) and don't even like calling you a liar.

If you refrain from talking about its precision, how can you say Sony's remote is more precise?

I think this is good for everyone. This will push Nintendo to bring out an HD console of their own sooner rather than later, so I think this will be good for Nintendo fans too.
If MS/Sony didn't add motion controls, Nintendo would probably not upgrade the Wii for years and years.

Imagine them adding a secondary control method to each of their games ? it might not work perfectly but if done properly that's all they gotta do to make it successful. Make all their first party titles support it as a secondary control scheme.
And you're correct i'm not stupid. But i'm not trying to make the wii look bad either. When i go further away from it than 2 meters the pointer on the screen starts the flicker and then vanishes. This is for both my wii motes btw.
And Like i said it does work when i'm close to it. Just not when i'm more than 2 meters away. Which is.. in my book rediculously short ranged.
If it's not like that normally then .. well i wouldn't know. my wii machine is like that though. For one reason or the other :\
And it's hardware setup is fine.
This spring (or upon the release of the device) I expect to see 4 things: 1.Wii's old third party titles and newer ones being announced and released on PS3 cause developers love quick easy money. 2. Most of if not all new 1st. part y software comjng with motion schemes (GT, U:AT, TLG, MNR, GoW, HR) 3. Some older first and third party titles patching in motion schemes 4.RTS games and other mouse/pointer PC games announced and or releasing. I can't imagine it being terribly expensive to bundle if they can afford to pack in expensive bluetooth sets with Socom. Or pay a slight premium on games that come with the wand or sell new play bundles with a playstation eye and 2 wands for $99.
