Another thing to note is the range. I can't even use my wiimote from my couch. It's rediculously short ranged >_>

Right, you know the remote can work more than 50 feet away correct?  After the Wii was released there was video after video showing that it could work from pretty far away so...yeah, try doing some research before you lie next time?

-edit-

And I'll say this again, Sony's wands are too little too late.  They may or may not have greater precision but it doesn't really matter.  The Wii has had motion control for three years already and Wii Motion + releases next week.  Sony plans to release the wands Spring of next year.

There are rumors that people are already working on the games, but the wands are far from finished and they only had bad tech demos (that the WM+ is already doing) to show.  If they expect these things to be out next Spring that's only a year of dev time.

You know what they're going to do with that?

A bad Wii Sports ripoff.

A bad Wii Fit ripoff.

A bad Link's Crossbow Shooting ripoff.

A bad Carnival Games ripoff.

Possibly bad Wii ports.

If you want good games, you're going to have to have more than a year development time.  That means when these first get released there is going to be a rush of what will be labaled shovelware games and the wands will be forgotten.  Better games may come out a year later but by then it won't matter.

your forgot about the Wii...it isnt a new thing, they have there XP, so I dont why you think we'll get tons of shovelware...there not Nintendo, there make sure 3rd parties will do a good

I think I get what you're trying to say but are you typing with your elbows or something?  I would understand if English wasn't your first language or live somewhere where English wasn't the main language but you're from San Diego...

Anyways, they may intend to give quality games but they also don't want to release the wands and nothing else.  Again, only a years dev time.  To make things even more difficult, they're working with a prototype so they still don't know what the final specs are.  They don't even know if they're going to have buttons so you already know any game currently in development isn't going to be too deep.

Everyone expecting something other than Wii Sports ripoffs and fitness games is going to be in for a huge surprise come Spring 2010.

@NJ5

Yes, I am saying exactly that. I will need proof that it is able to write with millimeter precision. I believe you have never used a mouse for writing either otherwise we wouldn't be discussing this. There is a reason we have a digital pen with tablets.

@ my last post - im not sure what happened but I guess I have to type it again - Twestern, SONY is late to Motion control, i sure they know this, there gonna have to do 5x the work I think your saying were gonna go through the Wii issue again( developers making shitty games for first year or so). I think your forgetting that SONY has mainly been relying on it first parties to deliver the best experience and I know they'll do same with SONYmote, and im sure the 3rd developers they partner up with will be watched for quality...and lets say they do a Wii sports clone..imagine LBP mixed with Wii sports..thats alot of ppl sold. Nintendo has to deal eith crap quality games for lots of reason alot of them having to do with relationships with 3rd parties and the fact that developers think that all that will sell..SONY( and MS) dont really have that issue so im sure they could get good core and casual games out the door quicker than Nintendo

The IR on the Wii has pixel precision. Do tell me how you can get better than that with Sony's technology. Any added precision will be irrelevant after the pixels get drawn on the screen.

What Sony really needs to do first is to develop string First Party games that fully uses and justifies the motion Controls and the camera. It can't just be A Wii-like game with HD graphics The projects will take much longer than we expect

You would expect so, though I would be very surprised if these came out in the Spring. Anyway, surely devs could just get things they are doing on the Wii, and then just upgrade the game and bring it out on the PS3. They have got a while to do so, so I just hope that 3rd parties do do a good job on this. I don't want Sony to take studios like ND to go and work on this, and while they do need some first party games to show off the tech, I don't think this will take over from the dualshock

@NJ5

Where does it say that it has pixel precision? They use a big icon for movement and I will refrain from talking about its precision.

Don't call me a lier man. Especially when i'm telling the truth. I have to place my sensor bar at my table to be able to use my wii while i sit in the couch, otherwise the controllers vanish from the screen. It's not a matter of being off screen because they vanish in the middle.

So stop accusing someone of lying when they're not.

Also if sony does those ripoff games they won't be bad. They'll be better than nintendos. Especially because of the technology used. Remember the ps eye has more capabilities that can be combined with the wands for the ultimate motion control experience.'

And @ your other post. They already said it had buttons. They said at the live presentation that "some games you just need buttons for" .. I don't know if you even watched it but if you did it sounds like you didn't pay too much attention.

He says it within the first 5 seconds. There you go:

And pixel precision is different for Wii games and PS3 games
