Forums - Sony - The PSP Go and how it is really good business!

i will buy it with GT PSP, the screen from my PSP 1000 is too scratched

If they get the software up for moving your umds over to digital media and you're able to hook this up to view on a tv then i'll probably get it :p i also hope it has touch screen and it's something they just haven't announced XD

Check out my game about moles ^

^If it was touch screen, they FOR SURE would have announced it. Even if they hadn't, it would have been leaked somehow or another.

You can always hope, though. :D

Oddly enough you ppl denouncing the PSP Go are definitely in the MINORITY. I know I'm getting mine, nothing wrong with that.

The Halo francise is the most overrated bland game to ever hit the console market. It provides a bad name to all FPS that even showed effort at creating an original entertaining plot.

I probably have more ps3 games than you :/

Hurray! Someone showing love for the Go!

I do agree that the price is a good business move, but that doesn't mean I have to like it. I won't get one until the price drops, but I pretty much love everything else about the system. I just hope the controls are easy to use (it looks like it might be a little awkward).

About the controls, you should check this out: http://www.vgchartz.com/forum/thread.php?id=75850&page=1

I think a digitial distribution model is the future for videogames but I'm not convinced that people are ready for it (in general) yet ...

Getting someone to pay $1 for a song or $5 for a movie is a very large challenge for content producers at the moment and I'm not convinced that any company could get more than a small userbase (in console terms) of dedicated people to move towards a full downloadable service if games cost more than $5 to $10.

To make matters worse, I think the high price tag puts the PSP go in the unfortunate position of being compared against both the iPod Touch and the Nintendo DS.

But I really don't think Sony care about this anymore. Sony are in a mess right now and are losing millions each month. They should be focusing much more on profitability right now and profitable products, something that I think they are doing with the Go

I really want a PSP go as the current PSP is too big to carry in my pocket. Plus I am more likely to buy more games if I am browsing the PSP store. However the price at $249 is a bit high for me to upgrade anytime soon, unless there is some sort of game bundle, or credit to buy a game through the PSN store. . People say its on par with the Ipod touch, but it does not have a touch screen, accelerometer, camera, etc. I think $199 would have been the sweet spot

A handheld costing more or the same price as two consoles on the market shouldn't be considering good business, even with some of it's tech.

You are totally missing the point here.

For Sony its great business, the profit margins are huge!!
