Forums - Microsoft - NATAL: Perfect fo RTS games

I'll keep to an input system where my arms aren't constantly in the air.

The whole idea of controlling by putting your hands in the air might sound cool, but keeping this up for hours on end is just impossible. For a test, hold your arm out striaght in front of yourself for a minute. Now feel how tiring that gets, and imagine trying to keep that up for a few hours.

the possibilities are endless for this technology- hopefully it lives up to our expectations.

Yeah, seriously.

Mouse and keyboard is flawless. Have you ever once, ONCE, thought "damn, I'm so sick of these lame imprecise controls. Wish I could wave my arms around to controll my armies.".

Thanks a lot other hardcore gamers, now that Microsoft and Sony have motion controls they're suddenly no longer "childish" and you have to start speculating about how "awesome" they'd work in lieu of already-flawless control schemes.

Dumb comment. No one ever said motion control was childish. Many applications we've seen the most often on the Wii using motion control have been childish.

As for RTS, I think the biggest thing here is that RTS games would finally be playable on consoles.

GOTY Contestants this year: Dead Space 2, Dark Souls, Tales of Graces f. Everything else can suck it.

I don't even know if it would be playable without buttons.

How would it know when you want to "drag" down on the screen? Among many other things...

This is not Natal but you get the point, we might finally start getting real Civilization, Starcraft 2, etc on consoles.

Ubisoft had an RTS playable on Surface.  It would have an interface similar to that one.

I wouldn't doubt if Microsoft doesn't use some of their Surface stuff

RTS need to overcome their reliance on resource fights

If it's not a dumb comment, than why would the Wiimote not be a superior input method as opposed to Natal for RTS? And do not give me "the Wii dosn't hav enough horsepower" BS.
