3 million first week is just too much. 2-2.5 milion would be reasonable expectation though. However, I think it's possible for DQ9 to become the first DQ game to sell 3 million in two weeks and replace DQ7 as the best selling DQ game in the series.

Yes, here we go. People need to realize that while the DS is huge, the PS2 was also extremely popular and it has a higher attach rate.

We can, in all likelihood, expect the DS version to do better. Let's not get ahead of ourselves though.

The DS is nearing the PS2's instal base. The system has also shown it can sell these games. While 3 million in a week is probably not going to happen, it can happen in uit's life time, and it wouldn't be the first time it happened.

According to both Media Create and Famitsu Nintendo DS has long since passed Playstation 2 hardware sales in Japan. They both have NDS at 26 million and counting and PS2 at 21 million. Is it VGC that have PS2 much higher? I´m confused about that.

Bet between Slimbeast and Arius Dion about Wii sales 2009:

If the Wii sells less than 20 million in 2009 (as defined by VGC sales between week ending 3d Jan 2009 to week ending 4th Jan 2010) Slimebeast wins and get to control Arius Dion's sig for 1 month.
