Console exclusive my man. And probably timed at that.

Megaton? kinda. More importantly, I want the game much more now.

It is not console exclusive, it will be on PC too!

Uummm, PS3 is the only C_O_N_S_O_L_E that will have the game. So now we count PCs as consoles? I love the people claiming it isn't a console exclusive but then call Alan Wake and Splinter Cell Conviction exclusives. Hypocrisy at it's finest....

OT: Yes darth, I'm on the train, hype it up!!!

Uhh... When did I speak a word about Alan Wake or Splinter Cell?

Maybe it not hypocrisy, but DIFFERENT PEOPLE HAVING DIFFERENT OPINIONS!?

And a game being console exclusive if it is "only on one console" is the second dumbest thing I heard this week.

I am the only Hungarian forum member here, therefore VGChartz is Hungarian-exclusive.  See what I did there?

Exclusive to *something*= everything else is excluded (a.k.a. only on *something*)

PC exclusive= Only on PC.  (Starcraft II, Sims 3)

Nintendo exclusive= Only on one or more Nintendo platforms.  (Zelda series)

Console exclusive= Only on consoles, and ESPECIALLY NOT ON PC

Did you even SEE the damn Interview for FFXIV? It IS CONSOLE exclusive (In 2010 anyway...), know your facts before you start talking shit.

@ Alterego: I didn't say YOU said anything about Alan Wake or Splinter Cell. That was in reference to people claiming Alan Wake and Splinter Cell arent' multi since you can only play the C_O_N_S_O_L_E version on 360.

As for your console comment, admit it, you were wrong. You said console, and that would not include the PC. Are you saying then that Alan Wake, Left 4 Dead 2 and Splinter Cell aren't 360 exclusives?

Obviously not, they are either "xbox inclusives", "PC & 360 exclusives", or maybe "Microsoft exclusives".

And I wasn't wrong, I just pointed out this common mistake in Xen's post, of calling a game console exclusice, while it obviously doesn't exlude other platforms than consoles.

I'm not a grammar nazi or anything, but this particular mistake drives me crazy, (along with "literally" used to mean "virtually"), because it means the total opposite of its intended meaning.

Console exclusive is the opposite of PC exclusive. It is usually used by PC gamers, referring to games that they can't play.  Final Fantasy XIII is console exclusive, because it excludes the PC, just like most JRPGs. Calling games console exclusives directly because they are on one console and PC, is just confusing, and grammatically wrong.

So how are they going to maintain servers?

Has anyone thought the game might be more like Guild Wars than a traditional MMO?

Server maintenance is not cheap. Theres a catch somewhere.

Squilliam: On Vgcharts its a commonly accepted practice to twist the bounds of plausibility in order to support your argument or agenda so I think its pretty cool that this gives me the precedent to say whatever I damn well please.

No MMO starts off it's development with a meeting about how to limit it's users. This "exclusive" was pretty much just exclusively announced at Sony's Presser

Don't know how to feel really. FFXI was sort of a let down in terms of a MMO experience for me. Another MMO with the same characters in a different world seems like it would appeal to the people who already like FFXI.

Not a megaton imo. Most people just seem to reject it for being an MMO.

Sony didn't say anything about console exclusive. Sony said it would "ONLY BE ON THE PS3", which is a lie. It's on the PC too, and eventually it'll be on the XBox 360 just like FF XI already is. Console exclusive isn't going to make much of a difference when everyone can simply buy it for the PC. There are more gamers playing the PC version of FF XI, then the PS2 version. Same thing will happen with FF XIV. SquareEnix didn't say if the PS3 version will launch first or if the both version will launch at the same time. When FF XI was launched the PC version came out first.

Actually, Sony said specifically that "PS3 would be the only CONSOLE you could play it on in 2010". Wanna try again?

Well, I didn't here that. I'll have to listen to the conference again. Like I said, it's is on the PC it's not going to matter. It can on the PS3 console all it wants, more people will be playing it on the PC, just like they are now with FF XI. So that statement is kind of stupid. I still remember him saying it would be exclusively for the PS3. Don't remember him saying CONSOLE at ALL, but I'll listen again.

If it really is free to play. I'll probably get it. Not sure if it makes it that much bigger though.

So does this mean that it will be a one time buy and not like WOW
