Forums - Sony - PS3-Exclusives Upcoming Release Schedule

I'm interested in making a quick list of what's been confirmed for 2009 versus what's definitely not coming out until 2010.  There's been a lot of vagueness up until E3, and it would be nice to know what's happening when.  From what I've seen around the internet today (feel free to correct me):

2009

Fat Princess (in the summer?)  Yes, this is a downloadable game, but it's going to be bigger than a regular downloadable game and it's getting bigger and bigger.  Plus, after the Beta, I'm really excited about it.

Uncharted 2 -- September

Katamari Forever

MAG

Ratchet and Clank -- (October?)

Demon's Souls

Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 (Yes, this one is a bit arguable as an exclusive, but it's here for completeness.  And because GoW isn't out in '09.)

The Last Rebellion (Yes I checked, it's actually been announced for America 2009.  EU, you're on your own.  Not to be confused with The Last Guardian.)

Maybe 2009

GT5 ("we're trying to get it out the door by then, if we can")

Eyepet

Afrika (Or the better-selling "Hukuna Matata")

2010

Q1-confirmed

White Knight Chronicle

Heavy Rain

God Of War 3

Quantum Theory (Early 2010, not confirmed)

The Last Guardian (TBA, sometime in 2010)

What strikes me about the release schedule is that, if they don't get GT5 out in 2009, they've got way more games in early 2010 than they do in the entire remaining seven months of 2009.  (And that includes the holiday season!)  It would be horrible if they rushed anything, but if they can possibly get GT5 out, it looks like the difference between having an outstanding year and having a slightly improved year.

Another potential screw up:

White Knight Chronicles, in addition to missing the window of being the only traditional-ish JRPG released on the PS3 for the holidays, is now getting awfully close to Final Fantasy XIII, which will probably send shockwaves out, destroying all other JRPGs in its wake.  It's close enough now that it's going to be compared graphically with FFXIII, even though it clearly shouldn't be -- it's an older game, after all.  Hearing about the delay feels like watching someone walk into an intersection without seeing the speeding car that's about to sideswipe them -- I want to yell "no, look out!" but I'm frozen in my horror.  Plus, I don't have Akihiro Hino's phone number...

What do you guys think?

(feel free to post corrections, too.)

Quantum... i'd like to know a little more on that one.

As for Uncharted 2...

I still dont have Uncharted 1!

Damn... to expensive. its old already and its still up there in the $$...

The Last Guardian could honestly be a lot later than that, I would just put it as a future title in general.

...

I won't be surprise that The Last Guardian will be release in late 2010 or early 2011.

Ok, I changed the Last Guardian to TBA*. Though I have read two articles (they may have been citing the same source) which said they were aiming for 2009, and were likely to release in early 2010.

*Mainly because it could be early, and I'm trying to keep from listing holiday 2010.  And because it makes me happy.

Seems a little bare for me.

Still, The Last Guardian, Gran Turismo 5 and God of War III will reek of quality.

Actually, that's an interesting idea in your thread (albeit totally unrelated to what I was listing  )

I'm pretty sure you're way off on a lot of those, though -- a lot of those games were shown WAY earlier than what you mentioned in the OP, just off the top of my head.

2010 is too late for WKC...sony fails.
