Why did you put this in the news article to begin with? That's not news nor an opinion piece, just ranting.

because a ton of other news sites are reporting it? shacknews and many many others. I had a very well written news piece and its gone now.

sorry... just got done reading Left 4 Dead news articles on Shacknews, saw nothing about them boycotting the game, or upset over the release for that matter.. can you supply a link please..

If this site wants to get recognized as a review site, leaving boycotts out of a news section is the way to go..

I mean, if a ton of other news sites jumped off a bridge, would you follow?

I've been playing L4D almost every other day sense it came out, and I must say I got my moneys worth 10/fold..

actually i double checked, its the comment section of shacknews that is spreading. It is N4G that has the main link amd Steam's forum that is getting the most attention.

and what are you talking about? IGN, Gamestop, and all the big industry sites have covered boycotts and everything else before. are mwe not big enough yet to cover them?

What Gamestop boycott?

please, send me non blog links about boycotts from IGN and Gamestop...

sorry gamespot, that was a mistype. But what I am saying is they have covered boycotts before.

This article for the DMC4 boycott for example. http://www.gamespot.com/news/6168044.html?tag=result;title;0

Well... there is a difference in writing about a boycott then writing about a boycott you support, makes you seem like your apart of it, and the site doesn't want that or want to be associated with..

oh I didn't write it slanted in the least. I would never put out a biased article. Never will. It is highly unprofessional. I might state my view in a comment for the article that I agree with they boycott stands for but I will never say it in the main article.

How do you think that makes it any more professional?

Because the main article is the bases of news. News should never be slanted in any direction. Comments are meant for discussion of the article. It does not matter if they writer agrees or disagrees with the topic of the news being discussed as long as the news article in presented in a subjective mannor questioning the bounds of both sides.

I ended my article asking general questions like "Do these protestors have enough reason to fight against the release of this game? Will Valv continue to support L4D with new content after release? Why isn't this being bundled with Half-Life 2: Episode 3? Stick with VGChartz for Valve's responce and future news on L4D2 and their other award winning franchises.

wow...pc fans are the worst I'm sorry. The huge uproars over stuff like L4D 2 and Diablo 3 and so on and so forth is rediculous. GET OVER IT, these guys should just be excited to be recieving amazing new games.

Its sad that we live in an age where gamers complain no matter what, even when recieving great new content. PUH-LEASE.

How could this be bad in ANY way shape or form? If you don't like the aesthetics or whatever don't buy it but to make community boycotts and stuff like this over a game being released with promising new material is a whole new level of pointless.

lol diablo 3 was in development for 7 years or something. The only problem i have with it is the lack of potions but we'll see if it isn't gonna turn out awesome anyways.

The real problem is that the original left 4 dead had very little content, and then the users were promised more.. something valve under-delivered on.

Now i'm not saying it should be free, but if left 4 dead 2 has the same amount of content as left 4 dead 1.. It should be an expansion pack to left 4 dead 1. That's just my opinion though.

Check out my game about moles ^

lol I was already in it before you even posted this =P.

Probably covered already in this thread but I saw how they forgot about TF2 on consoles so it was blatantly obvious L4D would be ignored too hence why I bought it on PC instead. Valve make great games but they really couldn't care less about anyone other than their core PC audience imo. I wouldn't go as far to boycott great games over the issue but they really should have added a lot more content to L4D even if it cost 800 MS points a pop like map packs do.

People will bitch about anything. If this same exact thing came out in November 2010 the same people complaining now would be praising it.

No disrespect but I'm glad the article was pulled.

I agree with the complaints, and ignoring the opinion based ones. I have seen absolutely no thought out refutes to the complaints at all, people just repeating "omg you whinerz!".

Part of the reason why I rolled my eyes during MS's conference. I was totally expecting Microsoft to keep pumping out Halo games but I wasn't expecting Valve to pump out another L4D so soon...I didn't think it was the type of game that could be easily milked.

I know someone that plays it a lo and pretty much felt the same way, but he's the type that will go out and buy it day one anyway.
