Forums - General - I just got my Instrument License Rating!!!!

Yes!!! after again, going through all the training, I finally got my instrument rating. 2/4, I'm halfway there to finish my Flying training.

The test was pretty hard, especially the oral part. And just my luck, in the flying part I got rain for the first time in my life, and there were thunderstorms really close to where I was flying. Not the best conditions to do a Check Ride Exam, but still, I finally got my second license.

Taking 3 weeks off, resting in Mexico and starting my commercial training in July.

Awesome!!!!

Oficcially a Private Pilot w/ Instrument Rating =D

Wait, I'm confused..........didn't you get a license previously? What was that for? At any rate, congratulations. You deserve one of these:

I got the private license before. Instruments allows you to fly even when the weather is bad. Clouds and Rain for example. It will also help once i''m looking for a job. A commercial pilot without instrument rating can not carry passengers for hire at night, and can't go more than 50 miles away when carrying passengers for hire.

Ah, that's cool. So what's the next license after the commercial one?

Multi-commercial

Multi-commercial is huge planes?

Well they teach you the basics, on how to control airplanes with one than more engine

Hmm, I learn something new everyday from VGC not related to video games. I never knew some planes had multple engines. What happens if one engine fails........can you land it safely with one engine?

Yeah... redundancy on airplanes is made for safety. If you have an engine failed even in a Cessna (the small planes I fly right now) that just have one engine, you can land it safely
