Oh!, thats cool so Wii must be your primary console. Do you play games alot? Just curious. XD
I'm not sure how widespread all of this is, but I bought two Limited Edition Halo 3's today, and although I was worried terribly they would be scratched, I was surprised to find in both of them both discs were in perfect condition. I don't say this to downplay it, but I'm still totally not sure how widespread it is (although perhaps it is specific to the stores and how they were shipped?). It sucks that this happened though, and it sucks some people are being screwed over initially by this. I hope that for the people this does affect that this situation is rectified soon. I know Bungie (although owned by MS) is a great company full of great guys. They always seems so genuine (they're hardcore nerds; what's not to love about that), and I bet they are not happy about this. They'll fix this...I just hope the process is as painless as possible.
HI Guys i got the HALO SE it works great no scratch........by the way the game is worth all the penny....
I got the limited edition and it is fine. This issue only affects the limited addition as far as I know.

Like games have never come loose from their packaging before. It is funny, it's obvious from the hateful tone of his post towards MS, Zero Hero is a Sony fanboy. Yet, he actually rants against the believe that this is a SDF thing? Does he not realize the irony that he himself a Sony fanboy, is the one trying to get this issue as much attention as possible when it doesn't even concern him, since he doesn't own a 360 and will never buy Halo 3? I mean, that says a ton about his motivations. He is trying to damage Halo 3 sales, because he hates microsoft. He is not concerned about others.. Anyways, these types of scandals no longer have the power to hurt microsoft sales, as Neogaf has cried wolf way too many times. Anybody with a brain doesn't care about this.. Hell, at worst, shake your LE and make sure the disc isn't loose. Big deal. Most people will not even be concerned enough to do that, and the casual person will never have a problem with LE discs not working. I work distribution, I know DVD's come loose and rattle around in the case all the time because I handle them all the time..it's only getting publicity now from people trying to bash MS. |
I was expecting some folks to try and find little things to complain about with the Halo 3 launch as well, but assuming a bunch of crap about this guy in one sentence and then stating it as fact in the next sentence as grounds to make more assumptions is horribly flawed logic.
Perhaps he is a sony fanboy, perhaps he isn't. But the fact is that you don't know one way or another and just assumed it. I know Halo 3 is a big deal for a lot of people and 360 fanboys especially, and as I said some of this "hating" is to be expected. But there is no need to go making accusations and condemning folks just because you don't like what they posted, just refute what he posted and let your position stand on reason rather than assumption.
In any case, so long as these people get their discs replaced relatively quickly, I don't see how/why this is a big deal at all. Bioshock had the Big Daddy figs get broken in transit and they replaced them and ultimately it didn't really effect sales that much.
I have the game, the $69.99 version which is limited edition, and it didnt come scratched.
2008 end of year predictions:
PS3: 22M
360: 25M
wii: 40M
Geez I just saw this story on the news (WGN). They used the term "hard core gamers" that were "complaining about scratched discs..."
lol
PS360 ftw!
Currently playing..........
Gears of War 2, GTA IV Lost and Damned, Little Big Planet (Yes I said I had no interest but my girl wanted to try it and we did and now Im hooked
)
When I got my copy at Gamestop, the limited addition, the clerk said theres been a report of scratched discs. So they opened up the game for me and there was a scratch about an inch long so they just replaced my game with the regular edition and they even gave me the little sleeve so it doesn't happen again. Pretty sweet if you ask me.
Also the clerk said that from what he had been hearing that it was usually the dvd that was scratched and I guess I got lucky!
