Well, I'll buy both, but Big Boss is always going to win over Raiden. I mean, Lightning Bolt Action over Tactical Espionage Action pretty much says it all for me. Very different games.

Yeah because Kojima is the only thing that makes MGS games good. In my view, perhaps without him directing this game will focus more on story telling in game and without cut scenes. That would be awesome!

No it's not.  He doesn't do ALL the story writing, all the code, all the artistic work.  The director merely guides it and watches over things.  Without him this game will still look great, play great, and have a great story.

All I see are benefits from not having him as director so now they can focus on gameplay and storytelling without relying so much on cutscenes.

I'm all for a great story in a tactical type game, but those types of games are not made for 30 minute cutscenes.  Those belong in RPGs.

No, they belong in Metal Gear, and are the only cutscnes I can stomach at such length.

I dunno about konami anymore. They used to be my favorite company "ever". After MGS4 I was satisfied with the ending and was ready to let it go as a series. Was really hoping for something new. As for kojima not directing rising, I really hope the new guys dont pull a silent hill. Would be sad to see a great series like MGS suffer the fate homecoming had. Now give me suikoden 6 konami and you will be back in the top.

Meh, guess we prefer different.  Action/stealth/shooter games just don't feel right if I'm watching a lot of the big events instead of playing them.

The original metal gears I loved because there was less focus on cut scenes.

Although, I would prefer a short cutscene over a long text reading (sorta like the dreams in LO, even if they were awesome reads, i eventually skipped them to get back into action).

when i hear this i really now from now on that Peace Walker is gonna be 5 times better than Rising!Rising will be the first MGS not to involve Hideo...or only as a producer and i think you will notice that when u play these games!
