Forums - Sony - Gamespot LOVES SONY's Motion Controller!

ive called the wii a gimick, ima call this a gimick, and ima call natal a gimick.

PLAYSTATION®3 is the future.....NOW.......B_E_L_I_E_V_E

Consoles owned: Game Cube, Gameboy Color, Gameboy Advance, Nintendo DS, PSP, PS1, PS2, PS3.

My prediction: NATAL WILL NOT help 360 sales. Maybe a 50-100k boost week 1, then a 30-70 k boost week 2, and back to the norm again after 3-5 weeks.

I listened to it - They seem impressed - I suppose it had much more substance than Microsofts Project Natal

Natal shows promise but I'm not sure the tech is there yet plus Sony's motion is much more the type of thing I'd use as it is a physical controller

Why'd you bring (the far superior) Natal in this thread? It only proves how much of a threat it is to some people. LOL

Natal was far superior?? When did I miss that memo. Natal was extremely gay in my opinion, and its not like they were showing live tech demos of it like Sony was. If you watch the beginning of the E3 video it says "Product Vision: Actual Features and functionality may vary." Mark my words, Natal won't work well and won't be out anytime soon. Only feeble minds like you fall for the Microsoft garbage!

Oh because PS3 gimmicks will be released earlier according to you ?

The PS3 controller was very similar to the Wii's so I wouldn't really call it gimmicky. Gimmicky is something that claims you will be able to fight as a ninja or will scan your skateboard and have you doing tricks on it on the TV. Show me some live footage. Oh thats right, there is none because that is only the "Product Vision." C'mon now don't fall for Microshaft's schemes.

You have clearly only seen the one clip made by marketing people at MS.  View the following.  After the said marketing clip, there is footage of the MS e3 conference that shows LIVE USE of natal in a 3d breakout game and some kind of painting thing.

So.. as you were saying?

That video was terrible. As I was saying Natal is wack and gimmicky.

Actually, you went on and on about how it wasn't shown live like the PS3 purple dildo.

On and on? I mentioned that once. I sold my Wii because I'm not into the whole motion control thing, and I won't be buying a PS Eye and that thing to play with on my PS3 for that reason. With that said, my original post on this topic was to debate the person who said that Natal was far superior to Sony's motion thing. Sony's motion stuff is far more useful and far more likely to acheive consistent results than the gimmick that is Natal.

MSI GT725-074 owner..... TRUE BEAST.. COD4 is a different game on PC.

Sony's phallus wasn't ready to be shown at E3 IMO but fortunately the same APIs/Libraries used with Wii M+ can be used for Sony's phallus. Therefore games which are cross platform with the Wii are automatic entrants for this technology on the PS3 at pretty much no extra cost. 3rd parties WILL support this tech.

Tease.

All Sony and ms need to do to make this work and sell is employ the tech in big budget games like god of war 3, gt5, halo 4-infinity(lol), froza 3, doing so will attract the hardcore gamers and it's pretty much a rap after that. For the casules just give them shovelware.

well this is interesting

Fixed.

Anyways, I did think that the PS3's demonstration for the motion tracking controller was neat, I just don't see how it would/will attract more consumers. Afterall, it's an add-on for an add-on that already exists, PLUS you have the $400 price for a stripped out console from its former glory when launched.

I like that the motion controller targeted the hard core more then the 360 one...

But the 360 one showed more physical interactivity and a deeper connection with the user through voice and facial recognition...

Too bad they wouldn't work together and combine the two...

Squilliam are you being serious here?

sometimes it's hard to tell lol

if you are (about the common APIs etc.), then i'm going to say that perhaps Sony's ancient fertility symbol might just have the upper hand over MS, even though the Natal project is imo more revolutionary.

I wonder if it comes with rumble...that would really be a (dual)shock
