Forums - Sony - OMG, STOP Gran Turismo 5 Trailer

^ Theres another option. GT5 has probably been ready at different stages had they commited to a strict feature set. However by adding more and more features to the game -> Nascar/WRC etc they are making the game better, but also pushing the release date out further. So the more we wait the bigger the game gets and the more definative the racing experience. GT5 was massive earlier, and the moment its probably safe to say its incomparable.

Tease.

GT5 damage confirmed

This was definitely a CGI part.  In fact, it looked like the entire thing was mostly CGI with maybe a tiny bit of game-engine stuff.  The game engine stuff looked no where near as good as the CGI, though.

Personally, from what I saw of Forza 3 it looks better as of this moment.

I'll make my final judgement when I can see both games in person in 1080p.

You can count polygons on the shadows, and the tire is clipping through the ground.  That's not CGI.

Also, I love how you claim this is all CGI, then claim that Forza 3 looks better.

^ if you're right makingmusic. Polyphony Digital just surpassed anything on the market... any anything shown in the same genre... or any others. It looks so real. In particular the lighting and shadows... dust particles.

Check out my game about moles ^

This is CGI.  Watch the video of it.  It's incredibly obvious that this part is CGI.  The screen cap taken at a very motion packed moment makes it look completely different than the video.

Also, I would like to point on this part of my statement for you:

a tiny bit of game-engine stuff.  The game engine stuff looked no where near as good as the CGI, though.

That is what I was comparing with Forza 3.

nightsurge. forza 3 isnt 1080p it will be upscaled. but gt5 is native 1080p or as near damn it. the trailer was a mix of in game and replays and some cgi, gamespot said it looked astonishing

Where's your source on that Forza 3 not 1080p figure?

What IGN said.

Gran Turismo 5
With close to 50 million units shipped, the Gran Turismo franchise is a big deal, even outside of gaming. The fifth full title has been in production for a long, long time now, so the fact that we finally got to see the game in action was a great thing. The fact that the amazing footage was all realtime made it even more talked about.

Wow, that was realtime? Too bad I'll still have problems driving in a straight line...

I don't know if it's true.

At least the Subaru didn't look real time to me.

The rest looked like replays.
