GT5 damage confirmed

This was definitely a CGI part.  In fact, it looked like the entire thing was mostly CGI with maybe a tiny bit of game-engine stuff.  The game engine stuff looked no where near as good as the CGI, though.

Personally, from what I saw of Forza 3 it looks better as of this moment.

I'll make my final judgement when I can see both games in person in 1080p.

Funny wasn't it how they never showed the damage model in action when they had cars spinning in front of each other.  Perhaps a more open minded individual would highlight that until they show deformation working in real time this could have been a pre damaged model inserted into the game to pretend they had damage running already.

Basicly you're claiming this is cgi and then that forza looks better ? major fail.

But i agree that this is cgi.

Check out my game about moles ^

As long as I can drive the F430...and hear the roar of the engine through my 5.1...I'm a happy man

@Munkeh: If GT5 was coming out this year, why didn't they explicitly state it? They gave release dates/windows for other games releasing in 2009 but no GT5 and they gave dates for games releasing in 2010 (God of War 3). Until I see otherwise, I don't have any other option but to assume GT5 will not make it out this year. If its coming next year then they will have time to add quite a stable of cars as DLC as they did with Forza 2.

I know that Europe is GT5 land, its no real secret to me.

From the business perspective, GT5 release date would over shadow the PSP GO and the GT PSP.

Since they are pushing the PSP hard this year, I think they want people to focus on the PSP.

I suspect thats the case. If the PSP is the more profitable of the two platforms it makes sense that Sony would spend a majority of its efforts on that platform. It makes the most sense from a business perspective anyway. Also if they are serious about their motion technology, it would also make sense to with-hold their efforts in that space until they get their functioning motion controller out the door.

No, I meant from the limited "possible in-game engine stuff" of GT5 trailer that I saw, Forza 3 looked better.

I don't think profitbility is the case here for pushing the PSP.

Sony probably thinks that they need to maintain a place in the handheld market by not falling too far behind the DS.

If they are really serious about pushing the PSP hard, it would have to be this year or it will be too late because PSP is like 5 years old now.

Sony will probably release a new handheld system in the 7th year. That leaves only 2-3 more years to focus on the current PSP before moving to the next one.

I think we will see a lot more GT5 info once the GT PSP thing is over.

Just my opinion.

Now now, you're just being controversial! I would say that GT5 should look better than Forza 3 simply based on the length of time invested in the game. Also the guy confirmed damage for the game in an interview I believe.

I have said this elsewhere, I think, but here are my ideas of its release date:

1. They have no idea when it is coming out
2. Might make it this year, but very unlikely so don't want to commit
3. They will announce it with the PS3 slim at TGS
4. My latest theory, it will come out with the Slim, but the slim is the PS3D, and GT 5 will be the flagship title

I'm going for 2, but I am not expecting it this year
