With Sont reducing the prices by 80% on there Devkits. You can bet that more casual/hardcore developers will come to the Ps3. I love the Wii and all but the Ps3 is were its at. I can wait to see more on Project M tho. And SMG2! Fucking awesome!

I have to disagree with the casuals coming to teh PS3. I think in order of casual system ranking, its Wii, then 360, then PS3. Ps3 is a very untouchable system for casuals due to price and no easy to master control system. On their motion controls, Sony has a good year (liekly 2 years after they fix it the right way) before they can have a casual-friendly input method.

The interesting thing is that now that Sony and MS have shown their cards, Nintendo can easily work with Ubisoft to make some quick modifications on their camera system, cutting off both MS and Sony way before they can put their products out.

They say it in their actions. :P

They've also made a few references about how they are different from traditional concepts of gaming. Let's face it, they haven't made money on hardcore, they've made money on casual. They have absolutely no reason to chase the hardcore audience.

I'm very interested in Nintendo's future believe you me. I like Nintendo. They just don't have the games I want.

Microsoft and Sony just release there motion technogoloy but the only reason why they did that was to get some more casual and non gamers. Nintendo already most of them and still getting more. Sony and Microsoft will announce their own exercise game trying to complete with Wiifit and thats most of the support you will see. While Nintendo goes after the hardcore people now by getting more support from 3rd party and making their own games. Now the casuals and non gamers will look at Sony's and Microsoft's exercise game and say "well I already got a Wii and Wiifit I don't need to get this" while the hardcore will look at the Wii's awesome library and say "wow thats a lot of awesome games, I'm going to buy a Wii"

i think youre 100% wrong on nintendo being able to move to the hardcore but also right that sony and MSFT cant move to the casual. I dont understand how you assume nintendo will be able to capture the hardcore which would be harder to convince now than a casual consumer but Sony and MSFT wont be able to convince a casual gamer....

nintendo already has the bulk of casual support and mindshare, sony and MSFT can sway this slightly, but i dont see any hardcore gamers being turned on by a focus from nintendo on casual with some bones to the hardcore when they get the best expereince on the other consoles.

In the end Nintendo holds market share at teh finish line and Sony and MSFT need to pluck a few casuals and steal each others hardcore to see who gets second. period.

Didn't nintendo say that they would not do motion control if sony and ms did it?

@theprof00, everyone has their own tastes but once I get some spare money I will glad to throw it at Little King's Story, Punch-out!!, The Conduit, and Wii Sports Resort. There are a few more games that I am sort of interested in also but those games will hold me. I am a little disappointed that they are taking so long on releasing the next F-Zero. I care a lot about F-Zero and it just seems like they are neglecting it so far. They better at least be working on it.

Seems like all they've worked on is mario and zelda and metroid.

Besides those "big three", there's really only been punch out! right?

It is a little disappointing. But Little King's does look great!

I have no information on that, but what I do know is what I saw at the Ubisoft conference - a motion sensing camera for the Wii, and them saying they worked closely with Nintendo on it, and that it will be out for the Christmas holiday season 2009. I can't see why they wouldn't throw a few tweaks in there just to put the nail in the HD systems' coffin.

Nobody even knows when, or if, either Microsoft or Sony will actually release their motion control set ups. We certainly didn't see any real games, unless you believe that "Milo" is a game.

It seems to me that both Microsoft and Sony decided to show off their tech in a bid to steal thunder from Nintendo, but beyond that they haven't any concrete plans to use it.

True indeed. And further more, its as if they provided Nintendo free marketing as well. They also further validated the path Nintendo took as the right path.

Bet between Slimbeast and Arius Dion about Wii sales 2009:

If the Wii sells less than 20 million in 2009 (as defined by VGC sales between week ending 3d Jan 2009 to week ending 4th Jan 2010) Slimebeast wins and get to control Arius Dion's sig for 1 month.
