Forums - Nintendo - Wii game scores on IGN

Ign rates Wii games a lot more intelligently than other sites. Ign seem to understand how the motion controls are to be used and hence, are in a better position to rate the games.

Heeeeyyyy!!!! <Snap>

SMG, SMash Bros, Guitar Hero III are bound to for the Wii.

Zack and Wiki, RE:UC, No More Heroes and Bwii have good chances I'd say, still don't think we know enough yet.

I reckon Mario and Sonic could do too, depends how IGN look at it, also NiGHTS / Soul Calibur Legends and a few more.

And I reckon Trauma Centre: New Blood will, the first Wii one got an 8 and this one is set to improve in a huge amount of ways.

According to Gamerankings:
Xbox 360: 8 (after almost two years, which means developers have had time with it)
Wii: 3
PS3: 1

Also i did think about it but there is a "sleeper" hit with dragon Blade--in all of the previews they really seemed to take a shine to it

Reviews are a matter of opinion. You can hate a 10 game or love a 1 game.

Valid point all you guys are making. Experience shows me though that I usually enjoy games rated 9 or above by IGN more than the ones rated below 8.

What about games who fall between 8 and 9 then?

They can be as enjoyable as games above 9 for me or not. I excluded this range as the tendency is not as strong as with games below 8. Kind of my grey area.

I tend to agree that IGN reviews games more intelligently than many other sites but at the same time the scores that Wii games receive on IGN are not different in statistically significant way.

Unrelated to the above quote: I think the Wii would benefit a lot from having a lot more 80-90% games than they would from an extra handful of 90%+ games. When one looks at the 360 lineup what is impressive is the strength of the mid-tier (80-90%) games, which is something that the Wii does not currently have but could really benefit from.

Debating with fanboys, its not
all that dissimilar to banging ones

@Picko: Interesting point, I was thinking about something related to your statement....needs a new thread though.

i dont reckon re:uc will get a 9+. although their reviews have been more postive lately, there is still plenty of flaws. id be saying 8-8.5 for that.

imo, +9 games... mario, ssbb, Z&W, Bwii, MoH:H2 and maybe GH3

Check out my pyro tf2 vid :)

Bet With routsounmanman: By the end of Q1 2008 Capcom WONT have announced a RE5 Wii Edition OR a new RE (classic gameplay) for the Wii (WON)

Besides SMG and SSBB... Nights (9.0), Zack & Wiki (9.5), RE:UC (9.0), Guitar Hero 3 (9.2), Mario & Sonic at the Olympics (9.0), No more Heroes (9.3), MoH:H2 (9.0)
Yeah, I'm quite optimistic... :)

I don't think Umbrella Chronicles will or deserve a 9. It looks like a 7.5 max game
