Forums - Sony - So this new motion controller....thoughts?

It looks very precise (I'm not sure how precise Wii Motion + is. I've never seen it in action.) but it isn't really groundbreaking in terms of tech. Sony has always found innovative ways of implementing tech though so I really can't say if it's revolutionary or a bust at this moment.

I am excited because the orb changes color...not. In all honesty, I thought it was a new Singstar microphone at first.

To be honest with you I thini it's a waste of time , and too late in time for it to be succesful.

Sony Intergrate the motion controller into the dualshock for the PS4 so it can be taken apart into two seperate devices.

It definitely doesn't live up to what the Nintendo WM+ can do - offer movement controls for the character. Therefore, not up to snuff, and also not as technologically advanced ad MS Natal.

They should have just invested in motion controls for next gen instead. Its too little too late

Its better then WM+ but worse then what MS has, so who really cares. I see no use for them in normal gaming.

WM+ is already 100% accurate. So it is as accurate as it, or is worse. You can't be more accurate then 100%.

And I don't wanna see what happens if you cover the purple head of the device.

wm+ is not 100% go watch the videos where you can see them moving while the stuff is going on screen.

i'll reserve judgement until its out with software the same goes for natal. the software will tell me wether its worth me giving a damn.

I am not a fan of motion controls...Never will be....and I will likely never purchase this....That being said, it's in another league beyond Natal and WiiMotion Plus, and I don't know how anyone reasonable would disagree.  Natal is just waiving ur arms and feet around, so basically you can play one game (knock balls down being thrown at you) WOW.  That's it.  It was like using a bat to perform brain surgury.  I mean that attempt to paint was a joke.  The new PS3 motion is like a WiiMotion Plus Plus.  It appears to be far far more precise.  Using the EYE and the tracking ball makes it a lot more precise than a little infrared reciever.  Also using the EYE means you can use all the features of Natal with even more precision that WiiMotion plus, and buttons.

That being said...I will never buy it.  And this will definitely never become the standard for 99% of games for the PS3.

It's basically the wiimote done without infringing Nintendo's patents.

Current-gen game collection uploaded on the profile, full of win and good games; also most of my PC games. Lucasfilm Games/LucasArts 1982-2008 (Requiescat In Pace).

That is the true working motion technology right there !
