That's messed up considering I don't want to have to fork over $240 every 3 years, or even $120 for that matter (OEM version).
| loadedstatement said: I havent been keeping up to date. From someone who has used 7 (or if you could link me to impressions from someone who has used 7), is it better than Vista? Or has Microsoft spawned another fail OS? |
No, win7 is what vista shoulda been.
Check out http://www.winsupersite.com/win7/win7_rc.asp... a guide of win7 (with photos). There is ton more information at http://www.winsupersite.com/win7. I thought Vista was great when it came out, it was an big improvement over XP but got bad rep. But I've been using win 7 it as my main OS since RC1 came out, it is awesome.

According to "leaked" reports. Upgrade will be $99 for professioal. New versions will be $249 for professional. I guess they want people to upgrade :). Very resonable pricing though.

EDIT: Apparently the $99 may be presale price for upgrades purchased between June 26 and July 11th.
