Forums - Nintendo - Finger pulse WHAT???

Everyone bitches and moans when Nintendo shows off a new peripheral, even the Wii itself, and they've yet to have a failure this generation. I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt.

My Games of 2011:

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword

Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Super Mario 3D Land

Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception

It checks your pulse and effects game play
Not sure if it could be pulled off correctly though

Actually, think of someone like that with Left4Dead.

How awesome would that be coupled with the AI Director if it new your pulse and how excited you were?

Yeah, that's what I think of.  If something like an AI Director can have info about how you're responding to the game, the potential in terms of dynamic gameplay would be awesome.

I could see this doing great if you're playing a Wii Resident Evil (old school ones). I don't know much about the Motion plus, but if it can sense 3D like the PS3's motion, then imagine if you're playing a FPS horror, and you're slowly (lights out in the room) creeping up to a door, gun loaded and ready, and your heart's racing, making your vision more blurry and heart beat noises going.

Oh be quiet. This thing is awesome. Not only will we get to know our pulse. But our pulse will interact with the game. Say you're in a nervous situation the game could make you feel more scared or calm you down.

Quite a few years ago (5 or 6 I think) I saw an interview with a researcher who thought that bio-feedback was the next wave in gaming because the game could determine whether the player was actually interested in what they were doing and make adjustments ... I've never seen it tried on a large scale, and I'm not sure if a person's pulse and temperature are enough information to determine their interest, but I am interested to see how Nintendo intends on using this.
