Forums - Microsoft - A thought on bungie...

Alright let me start off by saying i love Halo just as much as the next person who enjoys Halo but after seeing Halo: Reach announced i am just about fed up with Halo. That announcement, in my opinion, was a buzz kill on Microsofts E3 (which was solid btw, not as great as last years but finally showing Alan Wake and Conviction along with Forza was a big plus, then the MGS wasnt a big shocker but it was still an omg moment)

Ive been waiting and waiting since after Halo 3 for bungie to take a break and venture away from Halo. establish a new IP give that IP some lovin for a while then out of no where come back with another big Halo title. maybe its just me, maybe its not. but i hope they give halo a break after reach...

Halo is my FPS of choice, so getting ODST this year and Halo Reach next year is fine with me.

Yet, today, America's leaders are reenacting every folly that brought these great powers [Russia, Germany, and Japan] to ruin -- from arrogance and hubris, to assertions of global hegemony, to imperial overstretch, to trumpeting new 'crusades,' to handing out war guarantees to regions and countries where Americans have never fought before. We are piling up the kind of commitments that produced the greatest disasters of the twentieth century.

I was kind of hoping for Bungie to make a Marathon.

I think after you play Halo ODST, you'll be wanting Reach.

Partly because ODST should be a great game, but more because of the fact that you'll most likely be an all powerful spartan in Reach.

yesyes dont get me wrong everyone, ODST will be a decent game. and it would most likely have me wanting more and waiting for reach. but i still want something new. and yes Halo is my fps choice, both multiplayer and single player wise. so im happy they keep coming but still i wanna see if bungie can take on a challenge and take on a new genre or just a new fps IP
