Forums - Microsoft - Microsoft Whacks the Wii

I think some of you are kind of missing the point. It may track your body, but that doesn't stop you from using a bat or a club to give some real tactile feel to the game. I also think that the Wii will do just like it has been doing. I do think that exercise games on the Wii could be done much better on the 360's Natal... I can already see EA porting over their games. What's really neat about this is that we may just be able to see some cross platforms with the 360 and Wii as both use a very similar architecture.

Why would this guy doom Natal to failure by dubbing it a Wii-killer?

_____-killers never succeed! It's a proven fact!

People are massively deluded, thinking Wii's main selling point is waggle. Still nice move, MS, but I have a feeling we won't see new thing till X720.

The delusions of Microsoft grandeur begin anew. Two years from now, people will barely even remember this thing. There is zero real software shown, zero third party support, and the public is going to view it as an accessory to a system they already have no interest in.

Too little, too late.

Nice tech, though.

I was afraid of getting banned by posting a thread about this once Natal was unveiled (selnor did) but:

Really, what's the point of having a Wii anymore? It'd had to be motion controls that made it sell so well (not a damned person better list a string of first party Nintendo games, because they're are just updated Gamecube versions, and we know how the Gamecube turned out....and the N64 while we're at it), and now Natal takes it like 10 steps beyond the Wiimote.

So, again, what's the point in buying a Wii? Motion controls no longer make it special. It's not the cheapest console. What's the selling point now?

... I like my updated Gamecube versions?
... The Wii is out now?
... It might be the cheepest after adding Natal?
... I have yet to see an actual game using this?
... I haven't experienced WM+ to compare it with... something no one has really experienced yet?
... Nintendo hasn't even had their conference yet?
... I like buttons and motion controls?

if you like the Wii, you should love this. Now all MS has to do is 1) make a fair price 2) Get developer-support for this 3) bundle it with a game just like Wii Play.

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

Natal is the rocks! It has a lot of potential definately and the great thing about the Wii is that combined with the download service a lot of the third party games would work on the 360 and the downloads (I checked a torrent site) are only between 1-4GB usually.
