I think MGR is going to be about stealth still, but instead of using guns like Snake did your weapons will be Raiden's sword and maybe some other ninja tools.

I find it hard to make a stealth game when Raiden was such a bad ass I think people are expecting to play with him like in MGS4. But no one can tell right now.

It would be great if Kojima released some sort of gameplay video before E3 ends, but I know that it isn't going to happen. The reason I believe it will have at least some sort of stealth element is because that is what the Metal Gear games have been about really. I would find it hard to believe that Kojima would make MGR purely action-based.

Well youre right about that. MG is stealth not action. We just have to wait.....another god damn year. >.< Damn Kojima..

@Staude

I hope it's going to be on the ps3 aswell.. afterall the entire mgs fanbase is there so it would be kind of stupid of them to not have it on there :p Just my opinion.

Don't worry, Kojima wouldn't abandon Metal Gear's huge PS3 fanbase. Remember, the first information on MGR came from The PSP & PS3 Famitsu.

^thats true :p

Ah well sorry about that. I thought you were just another whiny sony fanboy. My apologies.

MGS multiplat is just the way to go anyways. No reason for it to stay exclusive. The more people that get to play it the better and more sales for Kojima.

True that.

It has been known for quite some time Kojima is tired of making the Metal Gear Solid series, even saying Metal Gear Solid 3 was the last Metal Gear Solid game back in the day. Metal Gear Solid 4 was released and it ended the story of Solid Snake.

So I was thinking, Metal Gear Solid is about Solid Snake, correct? So if Solid Snake's story is over, doesn't that mean Metal Gear Solid is over?

Metal Gear Rising may be the next series of Metal Gear, taking the place of the Metal Gear Solid series.

Edit: What I'm saying is there may be no MGS5, ever.

What do you think?

Metal Gear Solid is not just about Solid Snake. Two of the five games released thus far have Big Boss as the main character, and his codename was never "Solid". As far as I'm concerned it's just a name at this point, nothing more. They're going to call them Metal Gear Solid because that way it stays entirely familiar.

You have to admit though, even MGS3 is essentially about Solid Snake. MGS3 goes into detail on Naked Snake, the man responsible for Solid Snake's existance, and Revolver Ocelot's pasts, also revealing EVA. Through MGS3 we understand EVA and Naked Snake's relationship, and also where Revolver Ocelot's ambition and interest in Solid Snake comes from. All this information set us up for MGS4, helping to tie together Solid Snake's story. As for MGS:PO I don't know much about, so I can't say anything about that except it goes further into detail about the man behind Solid Snake. Also if I am correct and there is no MGS5, it means Kojima has really moved on and has abandoned the MGS series, creating the MGR series.

Edit: Not abandoned, but put to rest.

Portable Ops involves the large sum of money called the Philospher's Legacy and it involved Naked defeating the man that would ultimately inspire him to create Outer Heaven. It's very important to the storyline.

As far as the new game is concerned, I think we should wait and see what the story actually is before we decide whether this is a beginning of a new story or merely a continuation of the old one. There's no way to tell at the moment. It could be placed after MGS4 and involve new characters and villains or it could very well be placed inbetween MGS2 and MGS4 and fill in more holes in the storyline, making it a continuation of the MGS storyline.

That's true, well then let us wait until there is more information.
