True its ugly as sin, but the real issue here is the button set is fucked, and the our 2nd analog stick still seems to be lost in a forest.

Tsk, tsk sony...fission mailed.

I dunno. it might be easier. It's actually more like the dualshock controllers position to the analog stick then older installments of the PS3. I'm starting to like where it's at now that I think about it...but I think there could have been another analog stick and the Start/select option could be above the analog sticks. x.o

I guess...

But still 2nd analog stick!? where???

And is UMD installed in this latest version? wtf?

They should have included a touch screen though.

hm, it looks much better in the video and on the above pic, it's not bad!

and if you consider it's size, weight and capabilities, it looks ok!

don't mind my username, that was more than 10 years ago, I'm a different person now, amazing how people change ^_^

Small
16GB internal
Memstick slot
Remote Play
UMD-Less [longer battery life hopefully]

It's perfect....

Well if battery life is longer thats a plus for sure.

But installing games?....

That means, you realize... ALL PSP games from the past all the way up till now and into the future will ALL have to be on PSN...

Does this mean PSN will see some kind of Upgrade?

If they moved the start button over the first analog stick and second button above the groove where the second analog stick would go. This is a pathetic attempt I made in gimps for the idea i'd have over it... And the UMD is non-existant just as the second analog stick.

Yeah I know the image sucks but I am really tired and should probably go to bed soon since it's 5 am. x.o

Omg Axum... Thats Perfection!!! If it was exactly like THAT i'd buy it day 1. but alas... :(

They can't throw a second analogue on it or it would alienate their 50 million user base. Wait for the psp2 to do this. It's most likely also to test the waters of having the psp2 a download only platform.

The "second analogue!" cries are nonsensical.
This isn't the PSP 2, it's just a redesign (ala DSLite or DSi). Introducing a second analogue stick would be pretty lame for current PSP owners (All 50M of them), and more importantly, developers whom already made concessions in their games.

As for the actual design, it's alright. I was rather put off at first, but I've grown to like it.
It's actually portable now, so that's nice.

It doesn't really effect me buying it one way or another...I am buying this thing the first day it comes out. But I'm saying the PSP could easily get an analog stick put where the start/select buttons are and I think it would look better. I could care less about the second analog for now.

I also don't see how it would effect the older psp games...you just simply wouldn't use the right analog stick.

No it wouldn't affect the games.. but the gamers. 50 million people unable to get new games because they use 2 analogues. Ofcourse you could argue that developers could make 2 control schemes that'd naturally pick up what version of the psp you're using and adapt to that, but regardless.. a lot of people wouldn't be happy.

As Staude touched upon, it's more of an insult to the consumer.
If I finally bought a $199 PSP after its third revision, and then they add my most wanted feature in the fourth, I'd feel pretty screwed.

I agree though, in essence. I have yet to buy a PSP (Although I'm likely going to pick the Go up), and I would love a second analogue. I also agree the space where the Start/Select buttons currently reside just begs for one. I just understand why they don't, and why they aren't obligated to.
