I remember the days of "boycott ubisoft".

Wii owners, glad that ubisoft doesn't buy into buzz phrases and a small group of loud fanboys?

Red steel 2 looks amazing, hopefully the controls will be good for this one (Though based on the demo at E3 it looks like the crappy control scheme will be the default one).

an article at IGN on the preview for red steel 2 the developer told them the controls are basically like the conduit, just they removed that from demo because they didn't want to have the people spending the whole time tweaking controls and all that in the menu and more time playing and getting a feel for the motion+ sword and stuff like that.

and also they say shooting is basically exactly like metroid prime 3 on advanced anyways, so thats perfectly fine by me.  As for sword swinging, I didn't play the first red steel, but this one seems great.  You can see him slowly rotate blade and all that and mimicks on screen, he can hold in position to block and it reads how hard you swing and so on.  Sounds perfect, only missing block high, low, ect versus just vertial and horizontal.  and also no stabbing i guess.

But really you get too one to one and the game would suck ass.  It would just be a flail around sword wildly and you would kill people.  Games have ot have thier predetermined gestures basically, only thing motion+ does is allow them to have a ton more because more precise and can tell if swinging at a 45 degree angle versuse a 55 degree angle and how fast swinging and when stop and so on.

Yeah, good luck stabbing with a Katana...

Personally, I thought EA and Ubisoft had rubbish conferences, but it is interesting to see more games going to Wii, though I can't say they interest me. What was disappointing from Ubi and EA was no new PS360 games announced (apart from MMA), I don't see why they have had so few announcements, did they actually announce anything new for Wii that people care about (not petz)

Well not quite, they announced the publishing of No More Heroes and that new fitness game (being most important the camera).

@waron, I hope they have new peripherals with those games... hmm, i can see a plastic thing to make wiimote as a bouquet at My Unreal Wedding.

Actually, I think this is the first official confirmation of Shaun White 2?

Ubisoft likes money and knows how to make it, hence their Wii and DS support. EA, on the other hand...

Well, it doesn't matter. Frankly, I stopped watching the conference once their CEO started talking. His French accent worked very awkwardly with his below-average English skills. It was just too painful.

When you have platforms that the "Big Budget" games can take 3 to 5 years to develop, and publishers which seem more and more focused on only delivering "Big Budget" content to these platforms, it is likely that there will be fewer and fewer game announcements for these platforms and more games will be shown several years in a row.
