The only games that should have yearly installments are sports games because they've been doing it since the beginning of time.

Shooting games, music games, racing games, etc. should be every 2 years at the most.

Maybe companies are afraid of losing user base by NOT releasing sequels every year? Plus using the same engine with tweaks you save money.

Not that that would make too much sense at first but hear me out - Call of Duty 2 and 3 did not sell as well as Modern Warfare and Call of Duty WAW. But how much would have Call of Duty WAW sold if it was released 2+ years after Modern Warfare? People might have "forgotten" about how good MW was if there were to be a large gap with no hype. Keep in mind Modern Warfare was based on ... Modern Warfare, and the old games were based on World War settings that were getting "old", yet WAW still sold like crazy!

Granted hype in the form of commercials and what not could have kept sales going, but maybe It's cheaper to pump out another game in a year using the same engine and what not. I think it would be anyways.

Back at hand, we see Left 4 Dead 2 using the same source engine with some tweaks so this is pretty much instant money for Valve.

I'll take a new Left 4 Dead any year over Madden 20xx.

It's just that simple.

Already got it pre ordered.

They really need to flesh out the campaigns in this one (make them each longer, not just more of them).

Also, the computer AI, especially when you're not playing with 4 human players, really needs to be improved from the first one. You should be able to at least issue some type of general commands to the other survivors, and they should be able to use special items and weapons like molotovs and pipe bombs too... the first game is basically almost unplayable by yourself, especially in Survival mode... there's no point unless you do an online game with 3 other ppl.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

See you guys online on release day. Too bad valve haters won't be playing this. The same cry babies can't take a loss.

Don't know about all their reasons but I think L4D 2 will be great. Still, I also hate these yearly sequels, they just lower the previous game's value. Of course L4D 2 is going to be good but I just wanted more from Valve in L4D, wouldn't everyone? The boycott people are just taking it to the extreme, maybe a good thing though, that 50% off weekend special might happen sooner with L4D 2 lol.

So funny, they gave like a 50% off weekend special for L4D in around 2 months of its release, maybe sooner on steam.

"Valve co-founder Gabe Newell has trashed Sony's PlayStation 3 several times, explaining that the complex architecture of the platform makes the development of games for that system a "waste of everybody’s time."

Don't see this game will ever come to PS3. Now you know why there are way more PC/360 exclusive games. Not alot just about 8.9 times more PC/360 exclusive games.

monlosez the only reason value makes games for the 360 is because it's hardware is silimar to the pc.
