Microsoft got in there first at E3. Anything Sony shows now will just seem like a rip off

So you're saying this seems like a ripoff like the op did ?

cause these vids are 3 years old (cept for eyepet that one is only 1 year old) ... lol

Next they'll claim GP5 will be a Fortza 3 rip-off.

If they did show something, they totally ripped it off in 24 hours and produced a working demonstration. I wouldn't be mad at them for that, I'd be mighty impressed considering how long these things can be in development for.

:P

The adverts very much remind me of nintendo ads this gen (ie the focus is on a group of people on the couch playing, not so much on the screen.

Edit....

It's the same thing as the eyetoy, check out the eyepet trailer on YouTube from Sony e3 2008. Natal is a total ripoff of eyetoy tech no denying it, you can scan items, it will track your movements, heat sigs, everything natal does eyetoy have already done. I'm not pulling this out my ass either, check out the demos of eyetoy and eyetoy2 on YouTube....... Read about it on wiki... Microsoft is late when it comes to this, I give them no credit for innovation on Natal because it was already availble on the playststion.

... and to all the posters saying that eyetoy was never supported check out the eyetoy section of the PSN store, everythin MS showed on the Natal is availble right now on the PSN and they have been availble for over a year now, not to mention the free app that comes with the eyetoy 2.

New thread about Natal copying PSeye (already discussed elsewhere on the forum)- with a typical anti-MS flavor from  a PS3 fanboy.

Like said before, Natal is more than a camera (Milo app from Lionhead) :

Evan Wells (Uncharted 2): I think the differences that you see between any two games has much more to do with the developer than whether it’s on the Xbox or PS3.

^or how about watching the videos in the op. It's faster and it's right here in this thread :p

And the PS1 controller looks an awful lot like the improved version of the snes controller.

I agree with you that NATAL is a better version of the eye toy, but let's not make MS out to be the only one taking ideas from others and improving them.

When eyetoy pet is fully functional and gets a retail release, then and only then can you say NATAL copied it.

It's like me trying to make a time machine and then someone actually doing it, I could say hey they copied my idea! Obviously eyetoy pet was a failure at R&D that's why it didn't launch, NATAL isn't and it will launch.

I'm not saying it's not a copy, I'm saying we shouldn't be bashing MS for succeeding where Sony have failed.

Ubisoft is announcing right now: A camera for the Wii. December 2009.
