I guess stuff like that happens and I can deal with that but now Ninja Gaiden 2? Come on Sigma just came to the PS3 and I was hyped for another one but then Microsoft buys it and helps develope it. There are tons of other games like that too where other company's bought it and Sony didnt even try buying it. I think Sony made a comment about how they dont wanna buy games for there platform because that would be bribing. Seriously I think thats the dumbest comment ever.

I have a strategy for this.

Probably MS bought it years ago and ask the deverlopper(s). To make an remake on PS3 of the original game on Xbox (Xbots will not be mad because they have that game already) because of that some PS3 fanboys/owners will get in love with that game that they for sure wants to play the sequel and then MS announces they bought them and show NG2 so that PS3 fanboys/owners who liked the remake will think for sure to buy a X360 or not.

You know your probally right.

They are not dumb, but your rant is and heres why.

- Getting into bidding war with MS(alot richer then sony) for NG2 would really be "dumb"on their part, especially when you can use that money to fund God of War a far more bigger more important title.

- No one gave a damn about Enchanted Arms, R6 Vegas or even Graw2. Old 360 ports do not sale well, getting Saints Row or Dead Rising would make no business sense at all right now. Getting the sequels is what matters.

- They kept the important exclusives like MGS and Final Fantasy. Yet your complaining about second rate games, are you serious or just that bored.

They may seem second rate to you but there not to me. Saints Row Looks really fun and I love the GTA games. The only thing I like more then GTA games are Zombie games and Dead Rising is my calling card. Truthfully thought MGS is overhyped. I like the game but its not a perfect game series. Same with Final Fantasy, I dont get why people like the battle system. The only reason I play those games is because of the great story mostly. Thats why I didnt like XII.

Your justifying your like for those games by saysing FF or MGS is overrated, its not helping your cause here. You dont matter that much, your a tiny minority. The majority of gamers care alot about FF or MGS, they dont give a damn about old 360 games. Its just cold hard business reality, and sony is doing whats better for their business.

Iam sure you can trade in your PS3 for a 360 and couple games, you should do that just based on your post.

For example look at Bioshock.

Anyways what about other games? Like Saints Row, Dead Rising

Shooters, zombie thrillers and shooter-based action games are 15% of the total gaming market, maybe less. Sony is doing the right thing, by creating a long-lasting machine and investing in a broad range of franchises.

only thing wrong with ps3 is the price. Realistically it competes with too many items[laptop, ipod, cell phone, rent, etc.].

i said it b4, sony would regain system leader if it was $249 .... by the end of this year. its catered to rich people and not its hardcore fanbase.

There should be a prediction on if ps3 $199 b4 next gen systems.

Nah I dont think I will ever stop buying Sony gaming products mostly because I have PS1 and PS2 games. So in my opinion why buy games that wont work on the 360 or WII? Anyways im getting off topic and I think im going to bed.

The main Ninja Gaiden series has always been licensed sole to Microsoft, Sigma isnt.

ssj12, meet Ninja Gaiden NES

Not to mention the PS3 isn't getting Beautiful Katamari, just an unamed, undated Katamari title.

Sony tried a different approach this gen of trying to make new franchises. You can see this with some of their second party developers, such as insomniac and naughty dog making RFOM and Uncharted - not to mention funding some projects like Lair and HS.

Someone here had a post dealing with this, where they argued that Sony saw the profits Nintendo was raking in at third and decided it was best for them to emulate their policy of killing off their established franchises. Problem was Sony didn't have any real franchises outside of R&C and J&D at the time, so they decided to create new ones. I also think they decided to try creating big franchises aimed at 13-25yr demographic, emulating Halo and the insane profits that made MS.

I would make the argument that Sony thought they would win handedly this gen, or atleast have strong 3rd party support based on name and the massive sales they were sure they'd make. Thus, they wouldn't have to do much to court 3rd party devs and could focus other resources on new titles to boost their bottom line.

Problem is, MS and Nintendo have put up one hell of a fight this gen. Both of them are taking two very different approaches to tha market, and eating up market share while their at it. Sony now has to fight a two front war, dealing with Nintendo wrapping up the casual market that gave the PS2 a 120mil plus sales and MS taking the "core" market that gave the PS2 such a high attach rate. In both instances, a stable of well known big name games is needed, and most of those were 3rd party with the PS2.

Now Sony is stuck between a rock and a hard place. They need the third party support, but getting that is near impossible with their install base. The only way they can pull that off realistically is too pour money down the drain, but the PS3 isn't making them a profit and they have plenty of expensive internal projects.

In essence, they're screwed.

Funny thing is, I actually like what Sony is doing. I'd rather see a new franchise than a rehash after rehash of R&C. Some of the titles upcomming for PSN are really interesting and really cool - stuff that I wish MS or Nin had the balls to release. And then there are the big titles comming up, like Uncharted. Sure, some of the new titles have sucked (Lair), but some have been great (RFOM, Warhawk (I know this came to the PS1)) And Sony is funding interesting projects.

Overall, it kinda reminds me of what Sega did with the DC - They had tons of really cool, unique titles that made the system fucking badass. And please dont bitch to me about how OMG SONY ISNT SEGA - its just a comparison of how they both tried to reinvent their game lineup.

Darkdays kind of has a point....if you don't like MGS or FF and would rather play 360 games, no point in waiting for games you don't really like. The only games on the 360 that might convince me to buy one are NG2 and Bioshock....not even so much Bioshock, it just sounds kind of cool.

1. roadkillers saying THIS O_O?

2. Buy a 360.

Why buy a Xbox 360 when I just bought a PS3. That doesnt make sense. Plus I dont wanna spend what 350 for a console when I could wait and spend it on games. Seriously and I hardly spend enough time on my PS3 because I dont have that much time. The weird thing is I have about an hour today so im good.

Why buy a 360? Because of the great games going to it you want to play. You said it yourself!

Lets look at the quote directly below you, because it makes an interesting comparison

Shooters, zombie thrillers and shooter-based action games are 15% of the total gaming market, maybe less. Sony is doing the right thing, by creating a long-lasting machine and investing in a broad range of franchises.

Those games you mention, MGS, FF, ect that are suposedly "important" sold to less than 15% of PS2 and PS1 owners, respectivly. Even the mighty GT sold to under 15% of the PS2 install base.

People who care about FF are the tiny minority of gamers. Hell, even Halo, Bioshock, ect are the minority.

The thing thats important is how fast a console sells. The better it sells, the more 3rd party support it gets and the more "niche" games it gets, so a mother can buy her kid a console for Cars. Price is usually the determining factor in this, but first and thrid party support is intially important to get those "core" gamers on board.

Sony will open the door for new devs... this will keep things fresh and innovative. MS are only buying up companies that have done well last gen. It's not a guarantee that they will make great games this gen.
