Zelda Wars? Hyrule Wars?

I've never played a Zelda game (I had a N64, but my parents wouldn't buy me many games =/ so no Ocarina of time, only when I visited other kids' house), but it'll be sweet to have a gritty mature game of Zelda, where Link is in a full out warzone (imagine charging, in formation with other soldiers, shield up, into a swarm of enemies).

The theme could be about the loss of innocence, realities of growing up and the real world, and trying to restore innocence and beauty to the world.

See, this is what I'm talking about! :)

I still think the RTS theme sucks balls =P

I was thinking a normal Zelda game/controls, only with a PoP like theme (which I haven't played yet).

I don't think it's going to happen. In my opinion, all the zelda games I played should stay the same genre. If they make a Zelda tactics or an RTS, I don't think it would be the same. People would buy it because of the name, and they would want try it out, but it won't sell a lot. A good example is Halo Wars. The original Halo's are better.

all most all of them. even halo wars starts to lag if you are in a heavy fight. and even so nitendo doesn't have any experiance with rtss.

if the next zelda was an rts i would never play zelda games again. plus i dont think miyamoto would do that. not to zelda, his best series.

Pikmin says hello... or kinda waves...

I hadn't noticed any lag in Halo wars battles from what I've seen, unless your talking about online...

no, i mean single player skirmish. it doesn't often, but it does sometimes when you are assaulting a enemy base. and Pikmin isn't really a rts.though the idea is pretty cool. and i would love it say on a computer or something

Like I said, I don't think RTS will be appropriate, as cool, and good to control. But a Zelda game with both huge numbers of enemies with basic commands (like Pikmin) as well as good individual or small group fights (1 vs. 5) will be cool I think, as long as it's standard controls.

I was just thinking of Nintendo pleasing it's hardcore, and older fans by showing they don't care about the money and making a T-M rated game (unless the last game was T...).

So it's kind of parallels with how all the hardcore Nintendo fans are growing up, and they can make it the theme about how we face a harsh world when we grow up, and how we can still go back to the fantasy, by making fantasy a reality (improving the world/making it better)

I don't like RTS.

If Zelda went RTS then screw Zelda.

Wind Waker to me was fresh at the time while at the core was the same gameplay...just a style change and from a horse to a sail boat.

I like how Okami took much of the Zelda formula and streamlined it more...Zelda when you entered a dungeon Zelda made you KNOW this was a dungeon and sometimes made me turn the game off because I didn't feel like it. Okami tricked me and next thing I knew I just finished a few and had a blast it was so seamless.

I don't think Zelda needs to go into the future or change genres or all waggle gesture touch screen stuff, just simple subtle changes often make all the difference for a fresh experience.
