Forums - Nintendo - Could the next Zelda be an RTS?

I'll be blunt, I thought of this yesterday, wondering how the next Zelda would be "Like no other" and I thought, why not an rts?  What do you think?

Nope, still Action and Adventure

Zelda wii will use motion plus. It's made for sword fighting. Likely that means a move to a first person adventure.

In the wilderness we go alone with our new knowledge and strength.

then i can see the fanboys crying out in agony. (i know it is off topic but) just look at banjo it wasn't even on their system and they were crying out in agony.
but i love rtss, how would you think they could implement it though? it doesn't work that well on the xbox or ps3, or do you mean on the ds?

again i am not trying to troll.

^No I mean on the wii. You could have the hyrulians, the zoras, etc. And when I say the next zelda, I wasn't meaning the next zelda, but a zelda that may come out in the future.

Doesn't seem like a direction they would go in. That's what EAD has Pikmin for.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

well, i don't know if you have evr played a rts on a console. but the xbox(and ps3 i assume) have a hard time having that many people on screen. so with the wii and its even more limited horsepower(?) than the 360. i can not see it either running smoothly, or with alot of people.

not to mention the problems with the controls.

Zelda Wars? Hyrule Wars?

I've never played a Zelda game (I had a N64, but my parents wouldn't buy me many games =/ so no Ocarina of time, only when I visited other kids' house), but it'll be sweet to have a gritty mature game of Zelda, where Link is in a full out warzone (imagine charging, in formation with other soldiers, shield up, into a swarm of enemies).

The theme could be about the loss of innocence, realities of growing up and the real world, and trying to restore innocence and beauty to the world.

Personally, I believe that Wii controls would be a big step up from 360 or PS3 RTS otrols if implemented right. Also what games on 360 have trouble displaying so many things on the screen at once in an rts?

See, this is what I'm talking about! :)
